Beautiful bright, floral, creamy mouthful, really luscious with our pasta: rigatoni with spinach, kale, roasted pistachios, butter, sweet peppers and capers, plus Parmesan. Though we drank this six years after the “drink by” date, it stood up to time and was outstanding!

I must say I worked for Merry Edwards for 4 years so I knew the Sauvignon Blanc had cellaring potential, but to be honest I'm blown away at how bright the fruit still is after 7 years...stonefruit, lychee, guava, lemon curd. We are currently enjoying with a French blue goat cheese and it's absolute perfection.

Medium gold color. Nose of dried apricot, orange peel, guava, some green tea, oyster brine and sea shell aromas as well. Intense aromatics. Full bodied and creamy but great acid, which sings and zips across the palate. Apricot, nectarine, guava, drizzled with lime, I also get creamy white tea and honeycomb notes. Add in oyster shell, mountain stream and smashed chalk. The green tea and white pepper elements are nuanced and don’t overpower the wine. Long, lingering minerality here. I was thinking this would be a bit too tired (as a 2011 recently was) but I found is still impressive and alive (although not sure what's to be gained from further cellaring). Some dried pineapple and honey, waxy notes, from age but still singing. Long, salty finish with oyster brine and chalk. Gets even more expressive with air. Very pretty .

Yup, drink up. Flattening out and not sure I see a second life for this one. No need to store any longer. Dig them out of the forgotten parts of your cellar and enjoy what's left this Spring.

Big, fruity—sweet apple—nose. Plenty of that same fruitiness on the tongue, maybe with some apricot flavor—it’s almost, but not quite sweet. Then, I get a bit of minerality. The wine seems to be a bit viscous. At the back of the palate there seems to be some effervescence. All the fruitiness in this wine makes me think that it would pair well with fish served with a mango salsa or chicken with chutney.

This is still an amazing SB. Not dry, but not exactly sweet, this is a superb example of the flexibility of SB that can be realized with blending skill and imagination. Excellent with grilled Salmon, even though I would normally go with a chard.

Funny how tastes can change. I would've sworn this had some botrytis based on both the nose (where it shares a ton of notes of a late harvest/Sauternes) and then on the initial taste. It then balances out to lose the "sweetness" that it promises (noting that I did not want it). It just doesn't jive with my taste nowadays, but is a serious crowd pleaser.

Drank alongside the 2011 and 2012 vintages....the 2010 blew the other vintages out of the water. Drinking extremely well now. A very complex and aromatic SB out of California. Not impressed with 2011 or 2012...they lack the elegance and complexity of older vintages of this wine.

Extremely full-bodied white, at first it came across as very much over-extracted, almost dessertlike, but after being open for several hours it did calm down. Orange peels, rich creme brulee and lilies of the valley frangrance, all ensconced in a rich, long midpalate. Does it pair well with food? Only if you attack the richness with something just as big and worthy - tres leches cake comes to mind. It should age well for another few years, though the lack of acidity is somewhat worrisome in this regard.

See earlier notes. Lemon, pear, tropical flavors, vanilla on the nose and palate. What's unique about this wine is its mouthfeel and creamy, extended finish. More like a Semillion than a Sauv Blanc.

Disappointing and not at the level of our previous bottle. However, the cork was so badly dried out after 6 months in a refrigerator that I had to use an Ah-so to remove it. The wine opened with an odd musty moldy smell (distinct from TCA though). Very mild aromatically, but still showing the peach, pear, and hay aromas it had before. This paired very well with stuffed red peppers - the feta in the mix was actually outpowered slightly by the wine! A good domestic sauv blanc, lacking the wow factor it had before. So either this is not ageing well or my poor storage conditions killed it...

My favorite Sauvignon Blanc by far. Lots of lemon and a sense of floral, but with a great depth and a velvety finish. Worked extremely well across a mix of salad with golden beets, celeriac and Meyer lemon vinaigrette, seared sea scallops, braised pork shoulder, and olive oil cake with blue cheese. I'll keep buying this!

Wow, that's a huge sauvignon blanc. Very weighty. Pleasant notes of grapefruit and cut grass on the nose. Huge mouthfeel and a lengthy finish. Not really what I'm looking for in a Sauv Blanc, but I can see why people like it.

First impression is a surprising amount of oakiness and a hint of creaminess. But they fit in very well with light floral notes, bits of asparagus and bell pepper, and refreshing lemon-lime tones. Creaminess strikes up front on the palate, but flavors of stone fruit quickly win out, with lingering slate and citrus in the finish. Lively acidity makes this a very easy drinker, and all the components make a this a very enjoyable bottle. This is how I wish how most new-world Sauvignon Blancs would be.

I agree with the prior comments that this is more of a Chardonnay drinker's SB. Creamy and smooth, with more oak than one might expect, but very well balanced against the fruit. This one is worlds away from New Zealand, but also even much of what you typically find in CA. It's a nice change of pace, though certainly not the most value oriented wine.

It's not very often that I drink California Sauvignon, but this comes out as decent example of the style. Aromas lean towards tropical fruits, not much pyrazines here. Oak influence is obvious but not obtrusive. Rather full bodied, but with sufficient acidic core. Perhaps not exactly my kind of wine, but well-made nevertheless.

See my 2/16/13 notes. This bottle was very consistent. As one commenter noted, this is not a SB for lovers of really crisp, dry, acidic "green" SBs. It's more for us chard lovers. It's a real treat. Quite round with good complexity. Cellaring well, so no rush to drink the last bottle we have.

Sauv Blanc? Really? Vanilla, pear and melon on the nose and palate. Round and smooth, more like chardonnay than SB. Will disappoint those looking for crisp acidity, cut grass or gooseberry, but a nice surprise nonetheless. Pricey, but well made.

On the one hand I agree that this is a special bottle of wine (it certainly costs enough) but on the other if you compare it to "regular" or mainstream Sauvignon Blancs you have enjoyed from NZ or France, you may not actually like this wine! Its that different.
Soft, mellon, big mouth feel, smooth, balanced, no sharp edges at all but not cloying or flabby. Just slides down and leaves a pleasant aftertaste all the way to your stomach. There is a musty yeasty beer like quality at some point but it never lingers and is away before you even can focus on it. Its just a really big wine but in a subtle way. Extremely well done.
One taster remarked that it was like Conundrum except it wasn't, at all. This is a big white - I might even compare it to an old Hermitage white, except it isn't, at all.
You get the picture.....

Light yellow color. Rich, oaky aroma;vanilla, ripe pear, apple, popcorn, cooked cereal. Oily, dense texture for the varietal, and having a tropicality unusual for RRV sourced fruit. An obvious product of serious cellar work including fresh oak, MLF, lees-stirred, minimal stabilization. Rich, solid, still not my favorite style for the grape. Bottle #2 of six.

We had this after dinner on 4/13/13. It had a ripe, fragrant bouquet of grass, citrus, melon and pear aromas. The palate was clean, fresh and crisp with flavors of pear, grapefruit, cantaloupe, minerals and spice…Spectacular!

I am not a frequent white wine drinker, but I can't get enough of this wine. Consistently has full flavor with lots of floral notes and not too much citrus, a long strong finish. Excellent on its own or with any type of fish or poultry.

I like virtually all varietals that I've ever tasted, EXCEPT sauvignon blanc. It's a little like the musician in me: I like virtually all music genres EXCEPT rap (and most opera). The Merry Edwards SB is an exception to the rule. As noted by other reviewers, it's much smoother and creamier than most SBs, and there's just a whole lot more going on with the smell and the taste. It's probably at least partially a result of the sauvignon musque that Merry uses in her blend for this wine. The wine was exactly as I recall it tasting when our wine country cru and I tasted it at the winery in 2011. BTW they are all red wine geeks, and even they purchased some of this white. Our host at the winery said that this wine is unlike most SBs in that it will actually cellar nicely, and there will be some nice evolution to the smell/taste as it lays there. He was spot on, as were the other CellarTRacker postive comments on this wine. Also, it's both a sipper and a food wine, and is much more vesatile with food than any other SB I have ever tasted.

The color is light gold and the color is also clear and vibrant. The smells are grass, clove, herbs, lemon zest, and grapefruit. The tastes are minerals, herbs, lemon and lime zest with a hint of sea salt. The finish is lengthy and this wine is delicious!

Fantastic, as always. This vintage continues to show more of the gooseberry component than is typical with this wine, but follows with some of the tropical richness that I have grown to love with this wine. The tropical notes lean toward the brightness of a strawberry guava rather than the sweetness of lychee or pineapple.

We enjoyed this 2010 SB today at home with Turkey sandwiches along with a cheese, nut and berry side plate, and, as usual, it was large enough to pare up perfectly with every item, and then some-!! The only bad thing about it, I only have 1 bottle of the 2010 remaining in the cellar, and the 2011 still needs a little more time in the bottle before it can match up with the outstanding 2010 vintage. Time will tell. Incredible lucious melon nose, (as well as on on the palate), with a big Chardonnay style texture, (again, as usual from this winery!), with ripe honeydew flavors and a perfect balance of acidity to give this SB a perfect "kick" with food. Absolutely marvelous. Admittidly, M/E is my favorite SB, hands down, and, this 2010 has been my favorite vintage-!!! Scored it a 94-easily-!

This was gifted to us from "williamswhine" when we told him we weren't really sauv blanc fans, especially Ann. He said to try this one. I poured it blind to Ann and another couple this past Friday. First thing she said was "mmm...smells great!" Pretty rich, with some pineapple and tropical fruits, and a little grapefruit. It has a slight oily mouthfeel, especially as it warms in the glass, but good acidity and a long finish. There is a slight perception of sweetness and the wine is very friendly. We both really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing Tony!

USA White Wines (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): My girlfriend and I fell in love with this wine at the winery in March. Heavenly aromas of grass, jalapeno, white peach and green apple. The aromas opened up with time and air, showing all sorts of nuance. Most of the tasters were a bit skeptical of this wine, thinking it would be too oaked or bold, but the acid in this wine is so attractive that it won a lot of fans. The melon and lime fruit is pure and plush, laced with herbs and cut chives. The finish is long and seamless. Again, one of my favorite sauvignon blancs, period.

Nice pale straw color. The nose is quite pleasant with not a allot of sb funk. Lush fruit, but restrained if that's possible. Strong peach and hint of apple. Other flavors there, but I can't pick them out. Very very enjoyable with just the right amount of acid with very clean finish.

Amazing Cali Sauv Blanc, I used to be of the mindset that why bother with SB in Cali? In my opinion the key reason is the balanced approach with a kiss of oak makes them a touch softer than the NZ counterparts - Light gold, full bodied with a nose of grapefruit, lime, grass and cream, excellent balance and structure, interesting, tart, sweet on the palate with terrific length, stunning (92 Points).

Not a bad SB at all. Cork was a bit strange - hard as a rock, came out by twisting it out of the bottle with the corkscrew about 1/3 submerged into the cork. I thought this one was done. However, an initial whiff and smell of mango and peach I knew that this was going to be rather good. Wine was poured into glass. Lighter color than I had anticipated. Coated the glass rather well - not watery at all. On the palate is a medium to dense, moderately full bodied wine. There's a HINT of butter at the VERY front, that faded quickly to mango, peach, pear. Acidity throughout - went well with a fruit and walnut salad with a raspberry vinaigrette. The mid-palate faded to a granny smith apple, with nice delicate acidity throughout that faded to a slightly oaked out finish. Not the best SB I've ever had. By far the Quintessa Illumination Sauv Blanc runs circles around this one. But, this one is slightly better priced. I'd drink this one now. I don't know how much longer I'd wait. I think by 2013 this one needs to be out of the cellar.

Popped and poured. Light to medium-light golden amber hue, perhaps tinted with green. Forward nose of ripe apple, spicy pear, sweet pee, and a subtle note of petrol that appears with aeration. Light body, not quite as concentrated as previous vintages. On the palate, this shows more of the apple and per notes as on the nose but also adds a touch of ripe citrus and tropical fruits along with additional spice notes from oak. The acidity is moderate and there is certainly a tinge of sweetness on the moderate close. Per the usual from this wine, it stylistically drinks closer to California Chardonnay than your typical domestic Sauvignon Blanc (full malo?). Either way, this is a very nice wine and fans of the style will love it. Drink now and through the next couple of years.

This is still one of our very favorite CA Sauvignon. Bl. and this bottle defines what we like. There is wonderful fruit flavors of sweet spicy apple, citrus, and mild pineapple. There is so vanilla expression also from the oak. This wine shows complexity also. It is very clean and pure.

San Diego WineSpectator.com Offline, 7/15/2012 (Casa Red Guy): 14.1% alc. Kiwi, yellow apple, pineapple. Pure and precise, pleasantly smoky. Hints of lawn clippings more noticeable than in the 2009 vintage, but still very nice. Essentially the same as another bottle six months ago. Have wanted to try this for some time and was not disappointed. Definitely not going to be confused with Loire, Marlborough or even most of its neighbors. This is unique stuff: Pale in appearance, but unctuous on the palate, with a healthy dose of melon, pineapple and citrus blossom that's balanced with a beautiful creamy lemon-curd/vanilla-ish note that I find more often in higher-end California Chardonnays. Pretty complex for such young juice. $40 is steep for SB, but this one is worth the tariff. 92.

Popped one hour before first pour, consumed over 2 hours on our deck on a very warm June Spring evening. Nose: Medium-plus expressiveness of tropical fruit, apple pie, and hints of freshly cut grass. Palate: Medium bodied, great balance, wonderful creamy mouth-feel, sweet tropical fruit up front which carries through the mid-palate where it's joined by subtle hints of minerals and tart lemon grass flavors. Finish: Medium plus length finish of tasty tropical fruits. My fourth of six bottles of the 2010 Merry Edwards SB and it hit on all cylinders this evening - wonderful wine.

Except for $10-$12 everyday wines, I don't drink many sauvignon blancs. That being said, this one was probably the best I've ever had. No grass and minimal citrus notes, it was mostly melons on the nose and palate, along with hints of pear and minerals. Definitely not austere, it was nice and round, with a rich texture. The acidity was there, but it wasn't in-your-face. Good as it was, however, it certainly doesn't qualify as a good value.

EWG Dinner at Noir (Noir Food + Wine): Initially I got a (not unpleasing) canned tuna kind of note with orange, pink grapefruit, and tropical fruit notes; good acidity and juicy finish but still complex and well balanced except just a touch hot. Domino's 40th (The Anvil Club, East Dundee, IL): Bright straw yellow color. Lime zest, lemongrass and floral qualities. Piercing acidity; lithe & racy. In the pocket once again. Merry's SBs are atypical and lovely. That a current vintage is tasting this good today bodes well. As ME SB often show best in year two or three. So either 2010 that may be an exception to the aging rule or this will be her most brilliant effort yet. Summer of 2013, 14 may yet prove. Only time will tell....

Not a huge Sauvignon Blanc drinker, but this was one of the best I've had. Melon and stone fruits predominate with some subtle citrus flavors though these are definitely on the background. Sonoma Wine Tasting & San Francisco - March 2012; 3/22/2012-3/27/2012: Among a plethora of wonderful Sonoma pinots, syrahs and chardonnays, this wine still stood out and wowed me. The aromas are superb: white flowers, white peach, chive and jalapeno. Creamy palate, showing white peach, honey and honeydew melon, along with a distinct chive flavor. It's complex as hell, carrying long onto the finish. A hint of peanut shell from the oak, but I didn't find this wine overblown by any means. Acid lingers on the finish, leaving the palate refreshed. Val and I both swooned over this wine.

Funny, there is a late harvest of MESB in CT. I thought they were all late harvest! I was recently told she throws everything at this wine -- high brix, osmosis, RS, whatever it takes. Its still tasty. Its hot, both temp and alcohol. I imagine one impacts the other.

Nose is a somewhat green apple, green grass, and other typical sauv blanc aromas that are coupled with unexpected dusty oaky character. (This wine is barrel fermented in oak). The palate shows the typical sauv blanc profile that is tamed by the oak. A wine that definitely pleases the palate of an oak aficionado. And yet, I liked it. It works. Rely on food pairing for the acid, though.

This may not be the best vintage of this wine but it is still very nice. Typical grapefruit, straw, grass flavors of Sauvignon Blanc with the added typical weight and depth that Merry Edwards brings. I would drink this over the next 2-3 years. Very nice.

This bottle smells/ tastes pretty characteristicof this producer right out of the bottle. Great aromatic nose. I chose to decant it because the last 2 bottles of ME I have had, tasted like wet hay and cat piss on the finish after just a few minutes.( I think 2009?)This bottle seems to have held up for the 90 min. it has been open. Not as lush as 2008 ( thinner, shorter finish) but 90-91pts

Liking this even better as I go through my bottles. Great balance of fruit and acidity. Not just the pure citrus and grassy notes of other Sauv Blancs.

Opened for two hours. A rich looking straw colour. Orange blossom, mineral, lemon grass, dried mango and kiwi. Vibrant thirst-enhancing acidity; a well endowed palate where the long finish carries tropical fruit and minerality. This propitious Sauvignon Blanc is even better than the '09. A perineal fave. Drink now - 2017.

San Diego WineSpectator.com Offline, 1/31/2012 (La Bastide Bistro, Scripps Ranch, San Diego): Clear light straw color. Notes of white grapefruit, kiwi, lemon-lime, minerals. As it warmed, faint notes of lawn clippings and white flowers emerged. Showed no hint of its 14.1% alcohol. This was similar to, but slightly less expressive than the 2009 I tasted two years ago.

Not going to rate it until I try another one. I did not like it at all, and thought the much less expensive Kim Crawford was much better. Maybe it was an off bottle.

Absolutely delicious SB. The best I've ever had from CA. Lucious trpical fruits, a touch of grassiness and some lemon curd on the nose. In the mouth, smooth lingering finish. A wonderful creaminness to it without being fat, just enough acidity! A pleasure to drink.

The neutral oak used really smooths out the typical sauvignon blanc bite and adds nice complexity not usually fond in Cali SB. Good fruit with a hint of sweetness makes this a winner with everyone I've shared it with.

A hint of sweetness that made non wine Geeks (Paddi and Mark) into Geeks. Even my wife loved this wine. It was delicious. Fruit. Not over the top. Some minerals. Very smooth. Purchased at the tasting room. Purchased 3 @$30. Whatever was I thinking. Should have bought a case.

Very tasty stuff, as most of the CT notes reflect. Hint of grassiness, but it is not of Aussie or NZ style. Lots of tropical fruit flavors, a hint of sweetness that just may be really nice fruit. From 375 that left me wishing for more.

Enjoyed this wine for the first time at the Bodega Bay Lodge During a Spring Trip to Sonoma and was blown away that it was a sauv blanc. As captured by others, this is a more full flavored sauv blanc than what one comes to expect. Generous in the mouth with a crisp, not tart finish you often see is a sauv blanc. Paired this bottle with friends over a bowl of steamed mussels and was absolutely great. Thinking summer again already...

My wife and I love this wine. It is a fabulous sauvignon blanc!! The only problem is that our supply is running low, however, we will be in Sonoma in mid-January and take care of that issue. The flavor profile has been captured well by others in the CT community.

--- COLOR: Pale, brilliant hay/lime NOTE: What a difference 6 months and the right dish makes! Nose is dominantly fruity & floral now with white peach, apricot, lemon zest and honeysuckle, and now the wet limestone fades into the background. Minerality has also integrated on the palate but maintains a nice presence. Loads of opulent white peach, kumquat with hints of lemon juice cascade over the palate. Finish is dry but with lots of glycerin. The minerality is strongest here but not as bracing as 6 months ago. Briight acidity was the perfect foil for Stacy's U-10 scallops in clarified butter with leek/shallot/lemon/asparagus risotto. What a treat! We both loved it!

Citrus and a touch of fresh grass in the nose. Zesty in the mouth, with a bit of creamy texture. Weightier than most other Sauv Blancs, and it's surely tasty, but for the price point (for a Cali SB), it should knock my socks off.

Nice perfume on the nose, mostly citrus and slightly garden-like. Grapefruit, but not overpoweringly so on the palate. Maybe a hint of slightly warm jalapeno on the finish. Clean, not grassy. Fresh is the adjective that most comes to mind. Yum!

A Visit to Merry Edwards: Pale color with a light greenish tint. Grassy to the point of bordering on jalapeno aromas, along with lime and citrus tones. Racy acidity, with flavors of citrus and green pepper. Good finish.

Johnny brought this 375 ml. out to Brand BBQ to pair with my Lillian '07 Syrah. This wine never fails to disappoint. While this vintage may not have scored as high as past, it's still an astounding white - one of the best Sauv blancs from Cali. Nose shows a vibrant array of tropical fruit, white flowers and fresh peach cobbler. Medium body - this wine's feature is always its elegant styled mouth feel. Feminine and supple yet as complex as a California SB can get. The finish is a bit more astringent than in past bottlings, but this is still extremely enjoyable at a fair tarrif.

Quintessential Cali SB. Unapologetically ripe- this seems to have a bit more RS than in past vintages. Fruit cocktail flavors with a significant dose of oak on the finish. Always a crowd pleaser- a nice aperitif on a beautiful late Summer day.

Nose: asian pear, white peach, there's a note that brings to mind a tropical fruit puree, a touch of oak/vanilla, almond paste. Palate: fresh pineapple, ripe yellow nectarine, fig, honeydew melon. While sweet tasting (though not necessarily sugary), the finish is lengthy and mouth-watering. Med-low acidity, and I would like to see more.

My perennial favorite California sauvignon blanc year in and year out. While still a terrific wine with lush melon and exotic fruit flavors and nice acids, the 2010 is lighter on its feet in terms of concentration and depth of flavor compared to the 09. It also has a hint of grassiness that I have not seen before.

Tasted at the winery. My first vintage and I now get the hype. Lovely tropical fruit, peach and toasted almond on the nose. Concentrated and shows substantial weight on the palate but morphs into a more delicate wine on the finish with zippy acid and pear notes. The finish lingers and shows something new with each taste. I can see why this is enjoyed by a wide range of wine lovers. I also agree with our pourer's nickname of "cougar crack" for this wine as it definitely has the delicous factor for females in that age range. But again, quality stuff. I'm impressed.

Delicious, as previously noted. This time I was so busy enjoying our guests that I didn't pay a lot of attention to the wine. Sometimes I think that I should save the exceptional wines for when we can concentrate on the WINE rather than the conversation.

Dinner in Seattle (Bin on the Lake - Kirkland, WA): Lots of grass and herbs on the nose with a dense white floral tone. The palate is plush with exuberant flavors of grapefruit, meyer lemon, and fresh spring flavors. The mouthfeel is undeniably Californian Sauvignon, with a distinct freshness more characteristic of Loire Valley Sancerre. Very nice.

WLTV Offline - WA/OR tasting (Bin on the Lake, Kirkland, WA): The nose had aromas of green apple, pear and something that reminded me of snow peas. The palate had very sweet citrus and melon flavors. Nice mouthfeel and a good length finish. This seemed a little heavy for a Sauvignon Blanc to me, and the flavors were a bit different from what I expected, but it was a very enjoyable wine.

Lots of green apple on the initial nose, mellowed considerably after 45 minutes. Rich, almost buttery, more substantial than the typical grapefruit Sauv Blancs. Had this about a week after the 2009, and it's not quite up to that level, but still really strong. Looking forward to having more.

My first taste of the Merry Edwards 2010 Sauvignon Blanc. Nice notes of unripe green pear and green apple on the nose. Palate presents nice round fruit with flavors of citrus, definite white grapefruit, and something more tropical at mid-palate. Not overly acidic, yet very crisp and clean in delivery. Rounded out a bit more after warming up a bit in the glass. Top notch effort overall.

Our first bottle of the 2010. Our favorite California producer of Sauvignon Blanc with a history of consistently high quality. No exception this year. The 2010 might be just a tad leaner than the 2009 but it is excellent as usual. Superb with a pizza margherita

Popped and poured, consumed over 3 hours. Nose: Medium expressive scents of pear, green apple, star fruit, and freshly cut grass. Palate: Medium bodied, great balance and mouth feel, creamy tropical fruits - initially some hints of tartness which gave way about an hour in. Finish: Medium plus length sensation of tropical fruit which initially was a bit tart but by the last sip turned into a a beautiful sense of ripe creamy tropical fruits. Not quite as good as previous vintages, but considering the challenging 2010 growing season, better than I expected.

Really intriguing nose of forward fruit, just a whiff of grasses, and a salty marine note. On the palate, more of the same in a very rich and long package. None of the "grass" astringency that normally turns me off. This might technically last through 2014 as suggested by the CT "drink by" date, but it will not last in my house. A surprising statement given that neither my wife or I are huge Sauv Blanc fans.

--- COLOR: Pale, brilliant hay/lime NOTE: Intense minerality in nose, like the 04 Girardin Meursault. Very unexpected and the first time I've seen anything like this in a ME SB. The ripe peach and pink rose lie underneath. mouth has great body, med+ opulence, with nice melon and peach puree. Finish is more steely minerals like the nose. This is a very sophisticated version of a normally fruit-driven SB. I'm not sure exactly what to think. Give it a year or so and see if it integrates.

This was the "welcome wine" for us to sip while everyone got here -- we were off to a very good start indeed. Tied for FOURTH PLACE tonight.

That a current vintage is tasting this good today bodes well. As ME SB often show best in year two or three.
So either 2010 that may be an exception to the aging rule or this will be her most brilliant effort yet.

NOTE: What a difference 6 months and the right dish makes!

Yum!

It's in total harmony and has flavours of bell pepper and grapefruit with a light/medium body.

Very nice.

COLOR: Pale, brilliant hay/lime
NOTE: Intense minerality in nose, like the 04 Girardin Meursault.
