  [Restaurant purchase] At d’Oude Schuur, Sint-Martens-Latem. Medium+ intensity on the nose with blackberry, blueberry, red cherry, bacon, broody, gamey, savoury, bandaid, licorice, crushed rock, earthiness, violets, black olives. Medium+ acidity, medium+ tannins, long finish

  Leuchtendes Rubin. Die Nase ist Syrah pur, Leder, Kirschen, Pflaumen, pfefferwürzige Noten, florale Töne, ein Gedicht. Im Gaumen gradlinig, noch jugendlich, knackige Frucht, sehr feines Tannin, die Säure wirkt stimmig, top eingebunden, trägt die Frucht in einen langen, würzigen Abgang. Ein sehr stimmiges Paket, das ab sofort angetrunken werden kann, jedoch grosse Reserven hat. Jetzt bis 2035.

  Surprisingly approachable with only 11 years of age. Very well balanced wine - feel free to drink now without worrying about it being too young.

  Classic late night pull when things are winding down I decide to go pull a proper bottle to keep things going.
  
  Btl#7815 for those who enjoy those details. I do!
  
  This wine followed up a 2014 E Guigal La Mouline and was a perfect follow up considering the depth and meatiness of this vintage for Hermitage. I bought a case of this wine back in 2017 and it just now starting to come around and enter a window that I consider to be worthy of opening.
  
  Half bottle left for day two so I'll refrain from scoring till then.
