Pierre Morey/Fourrier Dinner at La Paulée de Los Angeles (Bicyclette, Los Angeles): Same saturation as 2017. Aromas of soil and herb at first, then more fruit, including citrus peel, later. Weight somewhere between the first 2 vintages. Clearly a sweeter, riper entry than the 2017, but this has nice tanginess as well. Blue and black fruit, solid acidity, moderate ripe tannins, and soil that runs the length of the wine in a refined way. Anise twist that is not as prominent as in the 2019. At once, excellent density and a sense of elegance. More than approachable tonight, but not nearly as expressive as the 2017. This is clearly outstanding too and will be a marvelous, rather chewy CSJ with more time in bottle. I would hold this at least until its 20th birthday.

Decanted. Exotic spice and juicy citrus fruit characteristic of Fourrier. Needs a lot more air and indeed turns out very fine, but has its spotlight stolen by the Centenaire. 93-94

Quintessential fourrier in every way, exotically floral. when compared with the centenaire of the same vintage in the flight, it is obviously lighter and less structured yet stilll a great wine.

Like many 2015s, the wine is suprisingly accessible. Nose had sweet candied fruit, violets, black cherries and spice. Palate was sweet and expressive with layers. Excellent balance. Great to taste this again after the EP tasting. Fourrier nailed this vintage.

I am not a big Pinot Noir fan (except for Champagne), but this I really enjoyed. Rich and (for a PN) full bodied.
