  blind, side by side with 1970
  Everybody at the table preferred surprisingly the 71. Someone detect because of the walnut perfume correctly the winery but we were much younger. The 71 was in perfect shape. Still cassis, fresh, elegant and reluctant tobacco notes. 98-99

  Wow. My oldest bottle yet. Amazing amount of fruit and structure left. This is in fantastic shape. The cork was 3/4 saturated but clean at the top and came out full. Black fruits, orange peel, clove, eucalyptus and tobacco. Great finish. At least 5 years left on this but wow.

  What a treat. Cork in one piece. Color surprising: hardly any brownish discoloration at the edges detectable. Raspberries, plum, tobacco, earthy, lots of spices and mint, medium bodied, long, long. 94/95.

  50th Birthday Bash: 10 Vintage Vertical of Latour: Another great value vintage of Latour. Only the second time tasting this vintage, but it is really delicious. Fully mature and slightly lighter bodied than the '66. However, it is one of my favorite vintages of Latour from the decade of the '70s. Still has years left should you decide to hold it, but why do that when it is drinking so good now?
