Dark deep rich eucalyptus and menthol. Intense sweet smoky treacle with notes of sage and black pepper. Full bodied, long and complex. Tannins softened now. Drink now, will endure for another decade.
The Mount Edelstone vineyard was planted in 1912, 106 year old vines, 40 acres. Yield decreases in old vines, the berries get smaller but can still support a number of bunches.

Came with vino-loc, first encounter with it (apparently more environmentally friendly and ages half as quickly). Fresh, eucalyptus, redcurrants, kept well into the next day. 2h decant recommended.

Good step up from last bottle. Vivid blackcurrant fruit gum nose, elderberry on the palate. Can't see this improving any more, but a delight now and for next couple of years, if not the most complex.

Enjoyable, but this bottle was one-dimensional compared to past bottles. Great red fruit up front, but very obvious and little complexity to back it up.
