i last had this wine in 2016 and 2017 and it’s come a long way. Very calm and even hinting at elegance. Nice cherry, black tea and a bit of old wood. Balanced. Not a great wine by an means, but definitely enjoyable and even engaging. Substantially better with the additional 4 years of age.

This was a nice wine - very Chianti-like on first opening and then the longer it was open the more it seemed to fall apart. Bright menthol and cherry nose and balanced at first. It really deteriorated over 2 hours. Surprising. It’s a young wine.

Disappointing. Brunelli (any sangiovese, actually) are some of my favorite wines in the world but this does not do justice to the grape. A bit paint-thinnerish on the nose. Same in the mouth. Not much of the personality of the grape comes through. This is the first of four from the cellar so I'm hoping this is just bottle variation at its worst.

There is a lot nuance here, but not a lot of power. Maybe that's Sangiovese. I doubt I will ever consider brunello in the same league as barolo and Barbaresco.
Anyway, this wine has aromas of black cherry, rose, vanilla, leather, game, and black tea. The wine has good acidity and very strong tannins on the finish. I figure it will be better in a few years.
