Full garnet. Quite a meaty nose with a slightly stewed prune note suggesting a ripe vintage. Full, really quite dense and meaty. Not subtle but pretty much fully resolved, proper grand cru weight and density, just a little dryness on the finish but just right with the goose and trimmings. Tightens a little with air to take on an iron element on the mid palate. Reasonably bright on the finish. ****

Considering my last few ounces as I write. Wow. This is really great wine! My concern that it might be too old were completely unfounded. Each pour has built on the last, each pour better. Black cherry (remarkably fresh), iron, and an autumnal walk in the woods. Length and depth, spot on acidity. This is the kind of Burgundy that will make you an addict.

Medium ruby. Nose of stone, mulberry, bramble, licorice, hyacinth. Took 90 minutes to give much, but eventually exhibited granite-like layers of stony, austere mulberry and red raspberry fruit cut with iron and briar on the palate. Firm tannin and moderate acidity ranging into a longer finish of brooding red fruit poised over immovable rock. El Cap with fruit.

(Faiveley Corton-Clos des Cortons Faiveley) Big raspberry and baked cherry nose with baking spices; nice, tart cherry, sour cherry and rosehips palate; long finish
(Faiveley Joseph Corton Clos des Cortons Faiveley) Deep ruby colour - still looks very young. Lovely fruity nose of damson and black cherry - some coffee too - a blend of aromas to wallow in. Structured and fat, with big, still grainy tannins and plenty of acidity. Really excellent, creamy concentration. Hardly budged since last tasted 2 years ago - lovely now and has real potential to stay lovely for the next 15 years.

The wine looks ruby colored. It smells like red currant, strawberry, cranberry and mushroom.
