4/27/2024 - wineforth Likes this wine: 92 points4th bottle from a half case, one every two years. 84% Merlot and 14% cab franc. 14.5pc abv. Smoky blackcurrant, tar and plum nose. Lots of soft fruit. Grainy soft tannins. Long finish. The tar, now so clear, has developed over the last two years. Drinking well now and could still have some improvement to come as the tannins subside, which they are taking a stubbornly long time to do. |

4/15/2024 - NickA Likes this wine: 93 pointsAnother 2004 horizontal (Hawksmoor Guildhall): Cor, this is great. Energetic nose, with a great combination of savoury notes and spearmint. Airy, greenish and exciting on the palate, again with some lovely savoury development, then softer and redder-fruited with time in the glass. Super finish too: long and seductive. My WOTN and the group's #3. |

4/17/2024 - KAT9 Does not like this wine: 88 pointsEarthy, herbaceous, brambly on the nose. Can smell the alcohol, which is not a good sign. On the palate, high acidity, alcohol is burning as you swallow. Checked the bottle and it’s 14.5%. What a disjointed mess! 3 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (2) |

4/8/2024 - Andrew67 Likes this wine: NRAwesome wine. Still fresh as a daisy. Such beautiful fruit - blackberry, plum, forest floor, cedar. Have been working through a number of 09 and 10 Bordeaux recently - they are not all travelling well. This wine a standout so far. I would suggest decades in front of it. |

4/1/2024 - Jeff Leve wrote: 96 pointsYouthful, but in a perfect spot, the nose expresses blackberries, smoke, charcoal, wild herbs and espresso with little effort. Full-bodied, lush, firm, and filled with salty black cherries, blackberries, chocolate, licorice, and plums, the minerality becomes more apparent as the finish lingers. Pop and pour, or decant for 1 hour, either way this is singing. Drink from 2024-2040. |

My #5 and the group #6. Guessed correctly as Pavie-Macquin. |

3/23/2024 - popopdrops Likes this wine: 92 pointsDekantert. Dette er den tøffeste årgangen jeg har smakt fra denne produsenten. Hakket før beist ved første glass, både nese og munn. Den roer seg raskt ned nedover i flasken. Alkoholstikk også, her er det for mye, men aksepteres. |

3/14/2024 - sempervinum Likes this wine: 95 pointsSlightly brickish with some brown. Incredibly complex aromas. Lots of fruit, some spices. Not perfumed. Just right. Balanced. Tannins and acidity are integrated. Stayed really long after the bottle was finished. More than an hour. 10 years ago this was quite closed but is now blooming. |

3/9/2024 - Jeff Leve wrote: 93 pointsBlac and red fruits, with loads of spices and fresh flowers in the nose is a great introduction to the wine. On the palate, the wine is vibrant, polished, lively, and, which is the perfect backdrop for all of its sweet, red fruits. The finish is packed with a blend of crushed rocks and red fruits. The wine blends 79% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink from 2026-2048. |

2/17/2024 - Brent25 Likes this wine: 93 pointsClear medium garnet with lots of fine/medium sediment; clean medium plus nose of bruised fruit, dried cassis, balsamic and a pretty florality; dry; high acidity; high tannins; high alcohol; medium body; pronounced flavour intensity; palate is tarter with addition of leather and fennel; long finish; more developed than I was expecting; based on this bottle, I wouldn’t wait much longer to drink my other bottles; bruised fruit note lingered the entire evening and was a little off-putting; purchased at auction - off bottle? |
