Thought this was going to be more ready to drink given the recent accolade from JA. Alas, that's terribly wrong. The freshness is fierce, but so are the tannins and classic Bordeaux notes that hide the fruit on the palate. Needs a lot more time. Still - not the whole package like the '18.
picked up more length and nuance on day 2 …

Similar experience to @MAXIMUM SATISFACTION. Opened and decanted in bottle for about 8 hours before consuming. Nose had abundant black currants and other dark fruits. However palette and texture was overpowered by acidity and tannins. I'm also not super confident that this will be well integrated with time. It was still decent, but over dinner the 2018 Le Serre Nuove Dell' Ornellaia and 2016 Salicutti Brunello di Montalcino clearly was more enjoyable.

A fairly powerful showing, with a more modern profile than the other 2017s showcased at the tasting. Blacker fruit, with creeping acidity that balls up a bit on the finish. Give this a few years.
