9.0% alcohol. Pure delight here. Stony nose of slate, minerals, peach, and tart apple fruit. In the mouth, impressively concentrated and intensely racy. Lots of fruit makes it so easy to drink, with excellent acidity, and a long finish. I love the racy, peach- and citrus-laced palate on this wine. A-

This is extremely youthful, but a very delicious and drinkable wine. Nose of peach, apricot, minerals, and a touch of petrol. In the mouth, lively with a touch of sweetness to the peach fruit. A floral note comes with the copious acidity. Solid finish that has a touch of spritz to it. Such pleasure. B+/A-

Lemonade, cheese cake and the lightest touch of petrol on the nose. Off-dry, bright and minerally palate. Grapefruit finish.

Very nice. Started to open up after about 30 minutes. Probably should get another one and hold it for a bit.

Terry Theise tasting - German wines from 2007; 6/10/2008-6/13/2008 (Tribecca grill): mineral, sour/unripe peach (in a positive way) - very crunchy wine (early harvested grapes) - delicious drink now or later kabinet.

The freshness on this wine is what I love about riesling. This has a wonderful nose of tropical fruits and white peaches. I love the feeling this gives you right when you take a sip as it is so crisp when it hits your tongue and just sort of spreads throughout your mouth. The palate lives up to the nose and offers good kabinett level sweetness with good acidity. This is a new producer to me and I would definitely purchase this again along with other bottlings that they do.

A lovely, complex little Riesling, very Wehlen-slatey on the nose, certainly quite ripe, but also with a good acidic tartness on the palate, and overall a very fine and light texture. Long finish with orange-citrus notes. Drinking wonderfully right now and a great example of a successful '06.

Retailer tasting of 2006 Terry Theise German/Austrian wines (Chicago, IL): Pale yellow-green with aromas of lime, flowers and slate. Palate has a round, creamy texture with more flavours of lime, slate, apple and a faint buttery note following.

Chilled for a few hours before pouring. Fantastic stuff. Shows a nose of stone fruit, petrol, river rock, and limes. Similar on the palate. Great acidity and complexity, fantastic balance. The finish trails on for 30 seconds. Drinking like it's at peak right now.

A forgotten bottle and cellared by mistake for over a decade. Very fresh, nose of honey, apple acidity and flower scent. Rich honey biscuit and floral notes with attractive balancing acidity. Good with crackers, pasta and garlic, but at its best with aged pecorino and ripe pears. I've no idea whether it has benefited or just survived its long cellaring but it was very enjoyable and a great bargain. I think I'll drink my last bottle this year as well. WoFW 12/20

This is in a great spot right now. Drinks more like a Spatlese but that's okay. Acid, citrus fruit, stone fruit, and some minerality. Drink now.

Citrus, pears, flowers on the nose. Chalky lime palate with ripe citrus and saline; fairly sweet for a Kabinett, but with fairly high acid. Medium finish of green pear, salinity, and very persistent acids. Very good.

The color had a youthful light straw with a yellow hint. The nose developed fast with some funk morphing into fruit with some maturity. There was a soft, rounded approach of lemon and yellow fruit flavors, a tangy bit, and citrus grip. There was acidity in the beginning then a softer finish where earthy flavors came out. The aftertaste was a bit short and left impressions of citric pithe.

Tastes quite dry, whatever the RS may be, this is really salty and tastes of tonic with lemon and lime. Excellent wine that could probably use a couple years.

Typical petrol and lemon/lime on the nose. Contrary to some of the other notes, I find this to have slightly less acidity than I like in a Riesling. Still enjoyable though, with some nice citrus notes to it. Certainly a solid value at <$20.

Great balance of peach, green apple, and mango flavors. Acidity keeps sugar in check. Medium to full body. Wonderful length on the finish. Still going strong.

Still years of life ahead of this one, I believe. Mild kerosene is the predominant, almost only, aroma. On the palate, sweet citrus fruit (think honey bell tangerines from Harry & David's) is starting to mellow and take on a hint of wax; there is mint in the finish as well as a bit more kerosene retronasally. There appears to be plenty of acid to support future maturation. No need to wait, but no need to hurry either.

The color shows the age by the browninsh-yellow. In the nose sugar cane, stones, minerals, figs, tea leaves, clear apple juice on low intensity. On the palate medium sweet, intense flavors of clarified apple juice, a little dry fig then a long mouth-watering mineral led finish. In fact the flavor seems to stay in the mouth for a couple of minutes. Needs to be well-chilled because has lost the lots of the original freshness. medium body, low alcohol.
