Pale lemon. Has all the expected citrus notes and grassy herbaceousness of the variety. Lemon and grapefruit are of medium intensity. There's also glimpses of tertiary bottle age bringing hay and lightly buttered toast. A vibrant acidic style, with lemons and lime primary fruit. Straightforward and light, but with penetrative depth of flavour intensity and finish. From here on there will be a battle fought between the toastiness and the grassy herbaceous aspects...with the grassiness to win the day. That's why I'm leaning towards consuming over the shorter term.

A: Pale lemon green N: I swirled and swirled and sniffed and sniffed. This was a Medium (-) Intensity (new instructor says Medium Intensity) Pear drop, white flowers, apple, lemon, flint and wet stone Youthful P: Dry. Medium acid (4 secs for drip chamber to overflow) , medium (+) body, medium alcohol (11%), medium intensity, medium (+) finish (instructor notes citrus stays but other clusters dissipate) Flint and wet stone very apparent here. C: Very Good Quality. Drink now, don't age (instructor thinks this one will continue to improve beyond the 5 yr drink now window) Loved the body on this one but the concentration and complexity were not there as it should.

Lemon-green. Citrus aromas, Cumquat skin, lemon meringue and butter. Medium plus acid, medium minus alcohol, medium body. A good wine with potential to improve and evolve.

Clean, bright and direct. The nose is full of freshly squeezed lemon juice, mint and straw. The palate is relatively neutral, textural and zippy. Acidity is prevalent but worked in nicely to the wine. It has excellent balance and is a delicious drink now yet should reward some time spent in the cellar. Sealed under screwcap.

A very good example of the vintage, with what I call squeaky acidity, which catches the tongue and cheeks as you roll the wine around the mouth, the opposite to crisp or crunchy: it accompanies Meyer lemon, lemongrass and lemon zest.
Very good entry-level Sem from a great Hunter vintage and winery. Frisky and young. Nose bursts with lime and lemon zested peel, green apple, fresh hay, stainlest steel, lanolin and kerosene. Kind of feels like Eden V. Riesling at the moment. Great balance achieved by searing acid line and length. Should age well in the med term.

Negociants Australia Portfolio Tasting: Lime, spice and some straw. The palate is clean and is not yet showing a great deal of interest. Pretty classic in style. Medium length and with time this should be a rather nice wine.

Light straw colour. Crisp and fresh lemon on the nose. Lemon and citrus flavour with nice balance with a dry tannin finish. An icon Hunter brand which I have not tasted for a long time but good all the same. Probably better with a bit of age. A good wine.

Green lots of biting acid. This is a great wine, not sure how Halliday arrived at 95 points. One day I would like to sit him down and find out what planet his pallet is from.
Hunter Valley - 6 Cellar Doors (Hunter Valley): {screwcap, 11%, A$25} Youthful grass & hay. Dry and crisp, with some density and weight, emphasized by fairly soft acid. Medium length finish of typical hunter Semillon fruit. Best within 5 years. Much better than the 2013 effort.

2014 Brokenwood.
Full, round and ready. In a very nice place. Drink now, not sure it has the bones to develop a whole lot more. Good. 4/5 90

Pleasant enough with shellfish for 1-2 glasses but not awesome now or in the future. Sells by the truckload and at a good price so can't complain.

Full-bodied, not very aromatic. Was hoping there would be a little more zip to it. A decent sipper.
