Drinking well now would say drink now over next 2-3 years but don’t see it improving. Straight forward Chablis with light body, med+ acid but also not very balanced with the fruit as it was a little overripe on the palate. But still a nice easy going wine that won’t be offensive.

Pale green gold color. Super tasty tonight with mouth coating minerlaity, salinity, and citrus. More than solid and killer for the price. Paid $18 and hope to reload soon at that price. This is probably the all round best "house" chardonnay around and so easy to open no matter how humble the dish. Great tonight with tuna fish casserole. Love the weight and complete absence of oak spice. 12.5% alc. At first, I wasn't as taken by the 2015 version vs the exceptional 2014s but, this wine has really come together over the past 18 months. For Fevre this remains a bargain.

Ultra pale green color. Split bottle over 2 hours at dinner, off the list. This came on nicely over the first hour. Became much more defined with a good bit of dry citrus extract and limestone minerality, a little brine, but not as much as I recall previously, and an adequate spice of acidity. Not complex, but a very solid Chablis that leaves no doubt as to what you are drinking. 89+pts.
Consumed over ~2 hours. Continues to be consistent with our notes from last September/October. Middle-weight, citrus and apple, medium acidity (maybe a bit on the low end for chablis), just a touch of pithy astringency. Not highly complex, but satisfying, particularly considering the price point.

Similar to my previous note, this expresses itself the most around 50- 55 degrees. Any colder will kill the flavor profile. Green apple, citrus and lemon zest with a great minerality on the finish.

Very pale straw for a chardonnay. The nose doesn't offer a ton. There's a bit of bacon fat and pear with some wet rock. There is a nice acidity that lingers but the flavors wash cleanly over the palate and don't stick around much. There is a note of slightly brown granny smith apple that is pleasant. All together a refreshing food wine or summer sipper.

Nose is quite pleasant, crushed rocks, lime, and apple skin with a nice seaside quality. Palate is very disappointing, medium bodied with a strange aftertaste and and flabby finish. Not nearly enough acidity for a chablis. Overpriced at $22.

Consumed over ~2 hours while warming from fridge temp to room temp. Pale yellow with a touch of gold. Nice mid-weight chard with medium acid - maybe a little less than initially expected but certainly enough to keep it fresh, especially when cooler. Citrus moreso than stone fruit or apple, but some of each. A little flint, and hints of minerality & butter coming & going. Solid for the price paid ($10-11 on closeout) & should be good for a few years yet.

Fèvre's Champs Royaux Chablis is produced from purchased grapes (as opposed to the Domaine-designated bottlings). Pale yellow, light-to-medium-bodied, racy and sleek, it delivers lime zest, nectarine, floral and chalky aromas. The flavors are citrus and mineral-dominated, holding solid in the middle and persisting throughout a medium-length finish. Although this wine sees a modest amount of oak during vinification, it is very subtle in the finished product and does not detract from its purity and freshness. This should drink nicely for at least another five years. Drink now-2022.

Very crisp, with round mouthfeel, good mid-range and finish. This is a very good, and well priced Chablis which has been very good over the past several years (2013-2015). Should hold and perhaps improve slightly over the next 3-5 years.

Chablis Masterclass (North Loop Wines, Mpls): Light gold color. Drank 1 glass over 90 minutes. Always an overachiever at the price point, this year is no different. Nose has mineral, citrus notes that build nicely, apple as it opens further; the palate is crisp with saline, citrus and apple. I'm always happy to drink this, and it's a good option on lists. 89+ to 90pts.

Light golden in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of pear, lemons/limes & grapefruit with mineral/flinty overtones, some floral notes, chalky, stony & a hint of vanilla in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe citrus flavors of lemons/limes, grapefruit & green apples, chalky, stony, minerals & hints of honey & a hint of vanilla. Lingering crisp finish. Drinks quite well at present and has potential for further development with a few more years aging.

Ripe for its appellation, just as most 2015s from Chablis, but good enough acidity for very fine balance within the "early drinking style". Quite good weight for a village-level Chablis.

Consistent producer, this 2015 has a bit more ripe fruit and body than the previous vintages of recent memory ( though plenty of zip and some finesse), just enough length to keep it interesting. Do I perceive a touch of oak here? Nevertheless this is very good. Though I would like a little more minerality- and fresh fruit.

Slaty, flinty, and obviously youthful, with very attractive jack fruit, white stonefruit, florals, and a lime-kiwi aspect on the nose. Energy, focus, and tension drive the crisp, mid-weight palate. Closes with youthful vigor on the slaty finish. Tasty, resonant, and very well priced.

Wedding wine tasting (Fremont, CA): Light green-yellow; nose is aromatic, mineral, oyster shell; palate is full bodied, medium acidity but also somehow lacking in vibrancy, flinty oyster shell minerality; short-medium finish. 12.5% - Clear, med to light green lemon / clean, med to low intensity - citrus, lime zest, smoke, saline, chalky / dry, med+ acidity, med to light body, med intensity, short length. I can't say if it's the vintage or this specific bottle, but it truly lacks what I normally enjoy about the Champs Royaux from Fevre. Missing the creamy texture, herbaceous notes and cheese funk... No major flaws, but no sparks.

Pale, green-tinged yellow. Classic Chablis nose with crushed rock and sea breeze. Ripe on the palate, a nice acidic backbone but could use a tad more energy and cut. The 2015 Champs Royaux is much closer in quality and balance to the famed 2014 vintage than I expected. Drink now through 2021.

I'm starting to worry that I don't actually like Chablis. I could've sworn I loved Fevre wines, but the few I've had in recent years have all been ok at best. This is quite cool, refreshing, linear, precise, but just...kind of boring. $24.

I need to try more of these but my first impression is that 2015 is a touch behind the 2014 but still, this would be excellent chardonnay from anywhere at $17. That it comes from Chablis is even better with its; classic restraint, minerlaity, salinity, and citrus. A lot of chardonnay for the buck and always an easy cork to pull. 88-89pts

Excellent value. Balanced fruit and acidity. Lemon, pear, apple. A lovely and simple Chablis, in the best sense, that is true to the region. Ready to drink.

Tasty, resonant, and very well priced.

tasted at large walkaround tasting. quite impressive for the level in the lineup, this shows nice green apple and chalk flavors, with a nice freshness and salinity to it. finishes crisp. not too complex, bit what is there is spot on for Chablis and quite tasty!

Medium+ intensity nose leads with stony minerality earth aromas followed by lemon and lime notes. It's medium-bodied with a plush mouthfeel and gentle acids on the palate. Balanced throughout with nice aroma replays that are a touch ripe fruited. Long, clean finish.

Plutôt simple , il n'a pas la tension du 2014, un millésime qui était exceptionnel dans sa catégorie.
Un peu mollasson, mais pur et plaisant. Petit déficit de fraîcheur.
bon.

Liking this better, now that I no longer have any 14's to compare it to. Really, very solid tonight. Great value for $17 locally.

A very nice Chablis. Very crisp and pure with an acidic and sharp body. Not overly complex.

Wedding wine tasting (Fremont, CA): Light green-yellow; nose is aromatic, mineral, oyster shell; palate is full bodied, medium acidity but also somehow lacking in vibrancy, flinty oyster shell minerality; short-medium finish. Nice for entry level Chablis and good for a crowd, but also lacking a bit to take it to the next level. 87-88

Solid with Chablis typicity, average acidity and weight, perhaps a bit less complexity and minerality this vintage.

I can't say if it's the vintage or this specific bottle, but it truly lacks what I normally enjoy about the Champs Royaux from Fevre. Missing the creamy texture, herbaceous notes and cheese funk... No major flaws, but no sparks.

Lemon blossom, wet rock and clementine peel. Rich, almost unctuous with a crisp acidity and a citrusy, long finish.

Delicious mineral focused Village Chablis. Not a lot worse then the excellent 14.

I agree with Chablis28 that the 2015 is not as good as the 2014, but this is still a very good Chablis for the price. I also agree with his other comments.

Easy to drink wine. Light to medium body with green apple, a little citrus, and stoney minerality. Moderate acidity with a short finish. Drink now.

88-89pts
