Final bottle of this in the cellar. We drank one last week but did not score it. To me...this one is aging out a bit, yellowing more and more in the glass. It's still very nice. Carol loves it, as compared to a bottle of Veuve for example. But, it's not as nice for my palate, as it was 1-2 years ago. It was stellar then, imo. It still has a decent nose, but the creaminess of the palate is what wins these days. Totally creamy on the tongue. Might be a 92 as I think about it a little more........

This bottle like those of past years and not like my last bottle, which was quite average at best. This one much fresher, more vanilla with great bubbles......

I wasn't happy with the opening of the well aged Veuve bottle and how it drank so opened this one up shortly thereafter for Lori on her bd. Been about 10 months since my last bottle and this one does not resemble the first 2 bottles. Drinks older, looks an older yellow in the glass. Feels more toasty, too. Not as light or creamy or floral as previous bottles. Hope it's a one-off. Still good at 89-90 points but not the reason I doubled up on these back then. No resemblance to a Cristal in any way from this particular bottle. And before anyone says it, I know this isn't meant to be a Cristal, not anywhere close at this price, but previous bottles did have some of the same 'feel' or taste similarities going on with them.
Seriously tasty. Didn't take a detailed note. Plenty of champagne richness but with a distinct higher tone, almost like orange zest or other citrus to accompany the crisp red apple and croissant notes. Very refreshing and light but packed with aromatics and flavor. Uncomplicated, super excellent NV.
Again......nice light mousse, white flowers, vanilla foam, very pleasant on the nose and the palate. This is a lighter weighted, balanced acidity, nice Champagne. A great starter to the Agelvispalooza for the weekend.
Outstanding.....I just don't get the scores here on CT for this one. It's just such a beautiful shimmering metallic platinum champagne gold color. The bubbles are small-medium. Everything about it seems to be just in sync in the right proportion. It's dry, but not too dry.....brioche and cream but not too much......lightly malted, not overdone in the least like most Doms, which on average, I find less than appealing to my palate, with a hint of a creamy vanilla mousse topping it all off. And there is this underlying bit of bright lemon curd with just a tinge of acidity balancing it all out. The lemony component goes on and on and on for a good 30+ second ending, truly remarkable......what a beautiful ending. I haven't been this touched by a Champagne since my last bottle of Cristal a few years ago and this one def has some of the lighter, brighter Cristal type hints to it. We celebrated with a toast to my son, daughter in law and my new grandson with this one. My son who is strictly a craft beer and tequila guy kept remarking about how nice this was.....that's making some serious headway with him which tells me all I need to know about this one, but then again, I had already made up my mind before he threw his opinion out there. I'm ordering more and hoping this wasn't just a single exceptional bottle from this producer.

There are three branches to the family, the MOuton - OPus - Almaviva side; Lafite branch on the London side, wine maker and environmentalist as well; Edmond and then the private bank; and the all come together for this Champagne. And this is the first time the family came together to make this Champagne. And they really enjoy that fact.
Created around 2005. Office in Reims but they are all Cote de Blanc and only Premier and Grand Cru grapes. And not about volume but about the quality. Five years to nine years aged. For them it makes finer bubbles and lowers the acidity. And most of what htey do is Chardonnay - its 70% Chardonnay at least.
TOasty notes on the nose. Chardonnay house, 90% Premier and Grand Cru and they own some Ogier.
30% - 40% reserve wine. The base of this is 2016 and 2017 and reserve wine 2014 and 2015. And they also use a solera method on the reserve years apparently. They are about the same size as Ruinart. Crispy and tight on the palate, refined and super tasty.

Tart and sour green apple encompasses the palate, with a light citrus nose. Some creaminess as it warms up too.
The bubbles which there are plenty of, seem to be reasonably fine but in a Champagne flute it dissipates all too quickly. Oddly it stays in the bottle!
Probably deserving of 4 🌟 if it wasn't so expensive at nearly USD100. For now I have to say this bottle of bubbles is in a very competitive price level where there are so many possibly better alternatives, including Ruinart, Pol Roger et al.

Served 9 wines for Easter dinner party. Couldn’t have been happier because each wine paired fantastically from appetizer to dessert while pleasing the entire crowd of wine snobs. I have left my rating for each wine below and how it was paired. I also recommend all wines on this list.
Main: Dry rubbed smoked lamb and oven roasted Greek style lamb with asparagus au gratin & roasted potatoes. 2008 Don Melchor (94pts) 2009 Luca Beso de Dante (92pts) 2009 Norton Privada (92pts) 2013 Bodegas Caro (Barons de Rothschild) Amancaya (92pts) 2009 Emiliana Coyam (91pts)
Dessert: Black bottom pecan pie NV Moutard Père et Fils Champagne Rosé (92pts) NV Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) Champagne Brut (89pts)
NV Rothschild Champagne in a word, BUBBLES! I don’t believe I have ever experienced such big, mouth filling bubbles. The amount of those massive bubbles is equally as surprising. The overall flavor is good, it’s dry with good citrus and a creamy custard taste, unfortunately, the bubbles are so distracting it’s difficult to focus on them. I am looking forward to trying it again to see if I have the same experience. And to be clear, overall I did enjoy it.

In Vino Veritas (in wine there is truth; [people speak the truth when they are drunk]), another bottle of my cellar sacrifices. An NV Barons De Rothschild Brut Champagne was served for our meal last week. We like ours extra cold end it seems perfect with lots of miniature bubbles and very dry on the pallet. We usually have brut rose as a favorite, but wanted to try this one out and we were not disappointed at all! 😀🥂🥂🥂👍👍👍 #wine #winelover #winelovers #redblend #redblendwine #champagne #frenchwines #frenchwine #frenchwinelover #champagnelover #BaronsDeRothschild

Hello hello! I did not expect much given the label and thought...huh...cute! They are just trying to sell the hype. But wrong I was! This is the real deal and then some! Beautiful energy, extreme freshness, coupled with the complexity of an aged wine, wrapped in almond toast. Long, delicious finish...Wow!! What else do you want and need? Drink!

Creeping out of lockdown with C&L (Auriol): Served a little too warm this time. Slightly overshadowed by the depth of the Ployez-Jacquemart 2008 BdB which came after it.

It’s a nice champagne. Beautiful mousse on the pour but the texture of bubbles dissipate when you take a sip. Nice balance of flavor with the dryness of the wine. It’s worth try if you see this one.

Great value at the discounted price this has been going around at lately. A champagne's champagne--nothing too exotic, focused but not harsh, sugar is very much in check, good balance on the ripeness. Very much enjoyed.

Blind tasting for expertise. When pouring, bubbles seems fat and rustic as a dish washing liquid. Mouth straight vivid and mineral, with a good balance. Bubbles a to wide on the tongue, and globaly the wine is short. Still pleasant but not for the wallet. Easy to find better. The name is not enough.

Have cellared for 3-4 years and probably too long. Not flawed in any way, but a really mature style, where very mature yellow apples are very dominating. This bottle lacked freshness.

Champagne Barons de Rothschild (London Wine fair): Brilliant, very light golden yellow. Fine, continous and persistent perlage. Complex and very fine at nose: Hazelnuts, almonds and pears, lemon zest and fresh bread. Very dry, imposing its freshness, above a shy fruit. Well balanced, medium texture. Very persistent on yeast notes. 60% Chardonnay; 40% Pinot noir. 5/6 gr/lt WS: 90

Popped and poured, the wine exhibits a golden straw hue with lively, energetic effervescence and somewhat thin legs. Bubbles are fine, vibrant and delicate. On the nose, the champagne is very precise, though somewhat muted. Comprising a mixture of 40% pinot noir and 60% chardonnay, the wine yields of bouquet of lemon zest, sugarcane, sour green apples, toasted almonds, bready yeasts and copious amounts of minerals. It smells precise and direct. On the palate, the champagne is quite acidic and dry. The mineral backbone is so brazen that it rasps the entry. With that said, it provides a definite structure and distinct cut to the champagne. As chardonnay predominates, the flavor profile, consisting primarily of citrus, fresh cut grass, shellfish, wet stones and steel, is more piercing than expansive. Finish is of reasonable length and complexity as the champagne ends in a smoky kick. For the pedigree, this is a solid effort. It is most akin to a carbonated, non-oaked Chablis. That said, more balance would yield higher marks. But this is more of an issue of personal choice than production quality.

Light lemon colour, fine bubbles. Pronounced yeasty aromas, apple, bread. Dry, high acidity, full bodied, long length. A very good quality (which surprised me) NV Champagne - and a step above most of the other usual NV Champagne suspects.

Champagne des Barons Rothschild Brut NV: Bright gold in color. The nose shows notes of citrus peels, a hint of yeast as well as freshly baked bread. Light to medium in body, with a fresh and pure mouth feel as well as well-focused yet tight bubbles. The palate features notes of ripe golden apples, citrus pith, yellow plums, stony minerals with medium-plus acidity and hints of French toast on a rather long finish. A very well-made, mineral-driven Champagne with good complexity. 12% Abv.

Had not heard of this until given to us as a gift. Did not overwhelm. Expected more, given the pedigree. Dry, w/ some yeastiness, minerality, green apple, and acidity. The mousse was aggressive, not creamy--too effervescent for our taste.

Beautiful hay color and bubbles. Nose of tart green apple, brioche, butter, asparagus, Gruyere - something funky and earthy in there. Nice texture on the palette, underneath loads of that green apple and minerality. Crisp acid and long, smoky finish.

Aperitif at the Ritz-Carlton Macau 51st Floor Bar. Vibrant yellow with bubbly bubbles on the eye. Subtle toasty almonds and citrus fruits on the nose. Reasonable dry, pleasant aperitif! A slightly difficult QPR, from our perspective, but definitely a nice way to start a great evening.

Bright golden yellow with energetic beads. Fresh and elegant nose with apple, citrus and light toastiness. Fresh on entry with good palate weight, showing citrus, apple and biscuity notes. Pretty lean on mid-palate with racy acidity. Very good NV brut with a long lingering finish.

Lafite Around the World (Esquin (Seattle, WA)): Concentrated citrus, biscut, and yeast. Rich, yet soft and creamy on the palate, showing nice citrus fruit and bread notes. Good length on the finish, and lots of acid. 60% Chardonnay / 40% Pinot Noir & Pinot Meunier

A glass at LeVeL 33, Singapore. Light to medium amber. Plenty of tiny beads. Plenty of apples with hints of strawberries in the nose. Moderate acidity. Medium bodied. OKish balance. Not a memorable palate with citrus and white fruits. Short to medium length. An OK glass of bubbly which unfortunately fell short compared to the view.

Personally I am a fan of creamy buttery type of bubbles (like Bollinger). I have seen this product for couple of years and never tried. It is not creamy but with a good balance of acidity. It won't attack and steal your palate away. Color is not too pale and the nose is fresh. Not overwhleming but solid bubbles. Pleasent green apple and japanese pears. An medium to upscale welcome drinks!

Highway robbery through name exploitation: easily the most overpriced champagne I have ever tasted. If you told me it was a $10 cava with its typical bitter finish I'd understand, but Sherry-Lehmann should be ashamed of carrying this at $99.95+tax. Not to be completely negative, I do like the bottle design! Let's see if their $124.95+tax blanc de blancs is any better...

Very expressive and forward. Lysol, orange pulp, creamy palate, pastry (tarte), plush, meyer lemon juice, cigarette ash, toasty, peanut shell, raw cookie batter, and melon rind. Lacking only the level of acid and minerality that I would have liked to see.

From my posting on Instagram:

12% Abv.

It won't attack and steal your palate away. Color is not too pale and the nose is fresh. Not overwhleming but solid bubbles. Pleasent green apple and japanese pears. An medium to upscale welcome drinks!
