The Kitchen Table, London 10yr Anniversary Event (The Kitchen Table, London): By the glass as part of the pairing for The Kitchen Table, London 10yr Anniversary Event. Based by 60% of the 2017 vintage, 20% Pinot Noir and rest Chardonnay from grand cru vineyards. Disgorged April 2022 with ^ g/l. A soft rich feel from this salmon colored wine ( richer red than a Provence rose but not that rich red of confectionery wines). Apple feel, soft floral touches, nice richness but fails to hit the memorable mark we have to say. 89-90

Yeasty red berry aroma, also some citrus and vanilla. Cherry, strawberry, watermelon, and lemon zest flavors. Light and precise with a very nice earthy Pinot Noir finish.
Light, zesty and zippy Chardonnay up until the finish — then Pinot Noir funk. I dig this.
Due to the logistics of getting this to the restaurant, it probably wasn't quite as chilled as it should have been. First sips had more of a yeasty (a friend called it "oxidized") taste than I prefer. After about 15-20 min in an ice bucket the yeasty taste disappeared and red apple taste seemed to take over. By the last sip and properly chilled this was nicely balanced, not sweet and not too dry, and refreshing.

A serious candidate for house Rosé here. Disgorged 10/16. 8 g/l dosage. 50/50 Pinot and Chard. Pretty strawberry short cake, floral and earth nose. Excellent stuffing with rich fruit and driving energy. Tasty and full of flavor, if a tad straight forward and obvious.
Slightly better than my last attempt with this Champagne, but not enough to compel me to ever come back to it once I finish with my small stash. This is super dry without having any noteworthy fruit to back up the arid, palate numbing effects of the effervescence and bone-dry back end. Thin, with little depth. Super simple and flat in the complexity department. Sparking strawberry water is about the best I get here.
Not a total train wreck I suppose, but very little redeeming qualities here in my opinion. My previous notes on this wine otherwise apply. 86-87-ish points? this go-around. Not technically flawed/corked as best as I can tell.

A beautiful hue of golden orange-pink, like a sunset in Morea...aaannd that's about as good as it gets....
A bit of a bummer of a Champagne, especially as a Rose, as I would've expected at least a little more core fruit flavor overall. The effervescence almost completely overpowered any barely-identifiable fruit. Mid-palate was thin and somewhat watery, again pummeled by a wash of bubbles. Some notes of unripe strawberry, cherry water, and faint orange rind and lemon verbena. Little-to-no finish. The back end was too dry considering it had no sense of weight on the already flat attack. Basically a mouthful of carbonation and willowy tinges of a processed strawberry additive.
I get that this is just a $35 Champagne, but it was so damn flavorless. No depth. No concentration. No intensity or verve. Akin to a Schweppes Club Soda with a green strawberry squeezed in it. Next time I'll just swing by Target and grab a can of La Croix Passionfruit for under a buck and call it a day.
Two bottles left. Something to serve at the next garage sale I guess...
Chilled for a few hours prior to serving. Pours a pale reddish pink. Not super bubbly, but that didn't seem to be a problem. The nose is loaded with strawberries and hints of red plum. Great acidity across the palate, along with ripe red fruit, wet rock, and something like home made red cherry fruit leather. Some spicy flavors came out as the wine opened up too. Overall it's a killer bottle of Champagne.

NV R.H. COUTIER BRUT ROSE- although not among my 6 or so rose champagnes used for house bubbly, this could be a serious candidate and may well be found in the cellar soon; Its brilliant pink red colour invites further exploration and I obliged; it gifted with lovely red apple, strawberry, cranberry and red cherry fruit which flows over the palate with hints of spice and clove; it`s so refreshing and being only mildly fruity, it possess a perfect state of elegance; 55% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir

Disgorged 9/2016 (50% Chardonnay 50% Pinot Noir). Served in Zalto Universals - the nose on this is really interesting. Just like the smell of strawberries when you leave them on the counter - stinky strawberry in a really good way. The color is a bright salmon that really livens up when the lights hit it. On the palate strawberry and watermelon, very light bubbles with some minerals and chalk on finish. Really nice and a pretty good value for Rose champagne. Will buy again!

2010 Northern Rhones (+treats) at Ross' place: Medium orange-red. Smokey and tight nose of red berries, cherries, orange and yeast. Bright with a small and assertive mousse - sharp with orange. OK but not great. Nose - 4.5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 4.5/6, Je Ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 15/20.

Rather light and citrusy for a rose, showing cranberry and red apple flavors, with a fair amount of bread dough on the nose. Turns bitter and hollow on the finish, with little complexity. Not especially good and not worth the price; there are $18 cava roses that drink better than this.

Aromas are fairly quiet, showing some light zestiness, very light strawberries. Pretty subtle, but pleasing. I wish for more excitement, though. Palate has tons of large bubbles, with just the slightest bit of strawberry fruit, slight apple core, and mild tartness. If I let all the bubbles dissipate on the palate this gets far more interesting and enjoyable. The finish is fairly closed at first, but then opens up with some quartz covered strawberries, apples, and melon rind. With attention, and once the bubbles dissipate, this gets far better. On casual consumption it's pretty boring and straight forward; I'd even say it's a little disjointed and bitter. Unfortunately I just could not get into this throughout the whole bottle.

Popped-n-poured; consumed over 4 hours. Showed better on 11/24/12 in the 1-glass tasting event; didn’t fair as well over a long evening. Note to self: the in-laws don’t like Rose’ bubbles. Prefered The N.V. Jean Lallement Champagne Brut Grand Cru which showed better in the full-bottle-to-full-bottle standoff. Best in the first 90 minutes of opening.

Pale salmon pink color. Frothy mouse followed by a fine stream of small bubbles. Exuberant red fruit, mostly strawberry that is followed by a yeasty bass note. Long persistent finish. This fruit forward rose from Ambonnay has a definite sucrosity to the nose but actually is quite dry. Very fine value for $32. I will buy more. Great match with sushi rolls.

Quite dry - almost austere- but balanced, complex, and very enjoyable. Great value for rose Champagne.

We drank our second, and last, bottle for our Anniversary. My notes exactly match the previous notes…strawberry, raspberry, brioche, spice and minerals. The only difference was that it was much dryer than I remembered.

I opened this at my 6/27/10 champagne tasting. It had a wonderful, delicate bouquet of yeast brioche, strawberry and raspberry aromas. The palate was clean, balanced and delicious with flavors of strawberry, raspberry, spice and minerals.

Autolytic, some nice soft fruit but lacks some tension and finesse, not very inspiring.

We enjoyed this when we opened it, but both liked it even better the second night. A really nice nuttiness emerged, the finish smoothed out a bit, and it retained its mousse. A well made champagne.

Nice stuff. Strawberries and a yeastiness all day long with a crisp acidic grip. One of the better Champagnes I have had. Well made fun stuff.

Darkest rose champagne I've ever seen. Lots of red berry fruit, yeast and a touch of citrus. Very rich and heavy on the palate with big fruit flavors. I do not care for this style.
