Sour cherry and ripe raspberry fruit, partially confit in style. Also rhubarb top notes. Meaty and herbaceous base. Appealing spicy and floral (rose petals) overlays. Fresh, nicely intense and fruit-forward palate. Juicy with soft tannin that still have a pretty firm grip. Nice acidity, mid-palate presence and a smoky sour cherry finish. This is a complete wine with the Drouhin handwriting all over it. While good to go now, I would decant 1h at least or cellar for 3-5 years for peak performance.

Ripe red cherry flavors with orange acidity following. There is some rose, raspberry, mushroom and fennel notes. The finish is mostly oaky vanilla with orange acidity with a little too much alcohol.

Red cherries and rhubarb, red flowers, mushrooms, earth, herbs, light oak influence, vanilla, delicate tannin, medium body, long finish. Just delicious and the acid is really nice. Made in a riper style than what I expected, but not overly so.

We felt like this was a bit flabby and over-extracted. More California than Oregon. Relatively low acidity. Disappointing. Maybe it’s the vintage. We were enjoying these a few years ago.

Purchased 6 bottles in April 2023. They’ve been in my cellar since. Color- ruby. Clear Nose- shy. Berries. Cherry. Oak Palate- great tannin/ acid balance. Cherry. Raspberry. Cedar. Paired with coq au vin and mushrooms.
Great food wine. Will probably improve a bit over the next couple of years.

Not decanted or aerated, wine was consumed over 3 hours with company. Tight nose at first, primarily cherry. Cherry dominance continues on the palate with medium plus acidity and medium alcohol. Fruit is very fresh and juicy. After the first 30 minutes, catching more fennel and floral notes both on the nose and palate, along with a light oak and coke/vanilla note. Persistent finish with low, but very fine, tannins. Very balanced.
Paired with a filet, broccolini, baked potato, Serrano wrapped asparagus and bacon wrapped dates. Wine outshined them all. Jumped the gun in opening this one, but excited about trying it again over the next few years.

Notes of jolly rancher cherry, rose and vanilla. A high level of alcohol is clearly evident on the aroma and palate. The finish is harsh and astringent. With time the finish should round out, but the high alcohol level puts the wine out of balance.

Final holiday bottle! Nose of fresh, ripe picked cherries topped with heavy cream & wet stone scent. Medium weight, lush red berries with singed herbs on medium finish. For young age, drank well on 1st night and even better on 2nd. Drink now or hold 2-4 years. Fantastic!

This bottling is labeled "Dundee Hills" which is the estate wine. Burgundian nose (like pornography, when I smell it, I know it), surprisingly soft. Flavorful classic pinot notes with richness and compexity. Darkish ruby, med-full body. Good finish. Wonderful wine in my view. It was $38 and change but I moved too slowly to try it, now $42 and change and out of stock. Failed. 93 but this should move higher over time in my view.

Decanted for over an hour. Aromas of cranberry, strawberry, cherry, earth and mushroom. Flavors of cherry, strawberry, earth, currant and hint of cranberry. Ends with a nice finish of 25+ seconds with cherry and strawberry notes. Took some coaxing to get the fruit out but was quite nice once it did. Tows line of new world and old.

Too fruit forward to be Burgundian, too restrainted to be New World. I enjoyed the tension and balance immensely but could see how someone favoring either camp would be disappointed for the lack of commitment. The nose is bursting with ripe strawberries and bright red cherry. This gives way to sweet spices, chocolate and vanilla. Alcohol felt very in balance at cellar temp but ran hot as the bottle warmed on the counter. There's sufficient acid to age for 5 years but this Dundee Hills bottling is excellent right now. Highly recommend with mushroom pizza despite the lack of tertiary notes.

Medium, bright ruby red in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & cranberries with overtones of spices notes of cloves & some floral notes, earthy/dusty, minerals, mushrooms, some cola notes, herbs & an ever so slight hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Medium bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of red cherries, strawberries & cranberries with spices, mushrooms, minerals, herbs & a touch of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present although it will develop further with an additional aging.

Good effort from Drouhin's North American venture. More Burgundian in style than most West Coast Pinots, but the copious fruit shows through. I'll take a Mt. Jefferson Pinot Noir from Cristom over this for similar $$$. Over priced for what you get.

Deep ruby color. Med(+) aromas of black cherry, vanilla, charred wood, cinnamon, raspberry, strawberry, perfume. Med(+) body, dry, high alcohol, soft, low tannins, long finish. A lot softer and more oak influence compared to what I recall for the 2019 vintage, but this bottle has travelled with me over 2 flights with some temp fluctuation so it could be condition. Alcohol sticks out a bit too much to me. It’s not as good as 2019. Oak is not yet integrated imo, so I’d wait a few years at least, but I’m unsure if balance between alcohol and fruits gets better over time.

Densely packed with flavors, but inoffensive and elegant. Sourcherry, rhubarb and strawberry fruit. Sweet spice of gingerbread, meaty elements and pepper. Earthy base. On the palate a sweet cherry fruit, juicy mouthfeel with ultra-soft tannin and good acidity structure. Another strong Pinot from Drouhin and (at least) on a par with 2019.

Bright ripe fresh concentrated red fruit (pomegranate, strawberry, raspberry, red cherry) complimented with well-integrated mild oak (vanilla, allspice, sweet cinnamon, slight charred wood). M+/H lively acid. M+ tannins with an almost polished texture. Medium-plus body. A more concentrated fuller-bodied wine, and within the range of typicity for the region and variety. Very nice.

We wine lovers can be prejudiced or are born to be, critical and comparative. It can be difficult to purely enjoy a nice wine, we are more prone to judge. This is a nice Pinot Noir and I suggest that Matteo1's view on this Pinot may not be agreed by all. Side by side with the 2019 Julie Belland Santenay Charmes (tasting note posted) both share Pinot Noir Family Values so to speak. You may describe the Belland as softer, less acidic than a traditional Burgundy, no disagreement. The same may be true for the 2020 Domaine Matrot Bourgogne (note posted).
Featured at a Comparative Tasting at Dom. Drouhin Oregon. This is the largest production cru from Drouhin Oregon. None was made in the 2020 vintage due to the fires. It spent 12 months in (20% new) French oak. 14.1% ABV. Medium garnet color. Quite muted on the nose. Palate is quite complex, showing black and pink peppercorns, red cherry and strawberry. Fairly broad on the palate. Moderately long finish. Nice friendly bottle of wine which, I suspect may have had a bit more breathing time than the previous wines tasted…

Cherries, violets, Malo lactic scents, and a blast of vanilla on the nose. Fuller bodied for a pinot, and about as far from burgundy one can get. Barely identifiable as Pinot, but approachable with sweet fruit to the point of being cloying. Soft palate and california style all the way. I liked the 2019 better, more acid and complexity.
Under a nice natural cork, pours a medium ruby. Cherry nose, a little acohol. Some sour red fruit on the palette, mild tannins, medium acidity. A nice Oregon Pinot.

Ordered from a restaurant's wine list, this bottle was uncorked approximately 30 minutes prior to pouring into the glass. It was then serially tasted over the ensuing hour. Medium-to-deep ruby in color, it serves up aromas and flavors of Montmorency cherries, raspberries, violets, clove, cocoa and black tea. Medium-bodied and well cut, it incorporates its oak and alcohol (14.1%) seamlessly. The tannins are plentiful but very fine-grained, giving the wine backbone without harshness. Solid on the mid-palate and lengthy on the back end, this is a very Burgundian-styled New World Pinot that will be enjoyable at any time throughout the remainder of this decade. Give it an hour or more of air if you choose to pop the cork at this early stage. Drink now-2030.
