I wrote these off several years ago as past their drinking window but one lost bottle In the back of the cellar was quite enjoyable. Medium gold color. Dry orange peel, almond, smoke on the nose. Some oxidative notes on the palate, lightly sherried, with bitter orange and saline. Slightly waxy texture. Short length with a clipped, drying finish, but the lively acidity and bitter orange add interest. This is a very different wine from the one I adored in its youth, and certainly well beyond its prime, but very enjoyable for the smoky, waxy, oxidative wine that it still is.

Finally got around to this bottle... Sunday night it was tight and tangy, four days later the amber nectar shows amazing resilience, copious notes of nuts and a sweet even finish. Wow, this is really a nice surprise and temps me to get a few more in the cellar for the next decade.

Amazingly like last time seven years ago -- barely showing signs of aging -- maybe a teeny bit darker in color and more exotic notes -- Sexy white Rhone with loads of candied nuts, hazelnut oil, crushed stone and a touch of petrol and frozen coconut.

Still in between its youth and middle age, but this one was properly stored, never above 12 degrees c. Low acidity but nice citrus notes keeping it fresh. No oxydative notes at all! Honey, pear, concentrated but not heavy .. very very nice! some stones (mineral notes) too ... including on the nose which requires some air to open up. I'd keep the last bottle I have confidently a few more years 90-92

What was a very nice, complex, waxy CNdP in its youth continues its sad march downward with age. Nine years on, it is over the hill, with mostly nutty, orange peel, oxidative notes. Behind those, it does show what I liked so much about it in is youth - citrus and smoke on the nose; pear, citrus, saline, and awesome waxy texture. I sadly saved three bottles from my case to age :(

The drinking window on these is a bit too generous, as they are certainly on the way down. Nutty, oxidative almond, orange peel, mineral, very little fruit. Fat and rich, with almond and dried orange peel and a bit of saline on the palate. Okay acidity. Medium finish, with a slight (again, dried orange peel) bitterness at the end.
PDH Offline Berserkers (PDH): Very good blanc CdP in an offline of Berserkers. Had it also two days later. It is drinking very well now and it is drinking above its price range. Would not go as far as 98 pts, certainly drinks better than current CT avg (91.3 at time of typing). Can't give a ranking with limited notes. Requires some decanting for the nose to open. Enjoyable

TTTG; 3/27/2014-3/28/2014 (Coventry, CT): I served this blind to a riesling crowd, and it got a lot of strange looks. I liked this more than many others, it seemed. That makes sense since I'm the one that owns it, though this bottle did not thrill me as much as past ones did. Fat and creamy, with waxy ripe tart citrus and some oxidized(?) notes.

I'm normally not a huge fan of Rhone whites, but this was quite nice. Ripe citrus and pear fruit accented with hazelnut, vanilla cream and smoky elements in a very polished, medium weight package. It's not particularly high in acidity, but there's good balance and it's quite fun to drink.

Served with Maine lobster stew...this was just the right wine for a dish with that kind of weight and depth of flavors. Scents of yellow apples, kiwi, faint vanilla creme, butter, and lemon on the nose. In the mouth this is getting to be less medium and more full bodied as flavors of pear, yellow apple, star fruit, lemon, and cherimoya. Medium-full body, moderate tannin, med+ acid, Med+ fruit, and a long finish. Outstanding!

Deep golden color. An intoxicating nose that combines peach, nectarine, honeysuckle, lime, and vanilla. A beautiful blend of fruit, citrus, and minerals on the mid-palate, that is thick and layered. The finish is very long, crisp, and dry with excellent minerality. Medium-to-full bodied with good acidic balance. This is drinking beautifully and paired well with marinated, grilled chicken. This really shined once it warmed to slightly above cellar temperature.

It is ripe and crammed with red currants but there’s lovely cool fruit minerality about it. It has floral notes that also refresh and is powerful but not too big and heavy. A delicious, balanced and long Chateauneuf that has not a hair out of place. As good as it looks now it should age well over a couple of decades.

Not bad, but nothing special. Color was advanced for a wine this age, with a tinge of rust around the edges. It's possible I had a bottle that was oxidizing prematurely. It seemed a bit tired--like it would have been better a couple years ago, which isn't consistent with the notes from other tasters.

Poured at 50F with no decant. A little spirit on nose, together with chalk dust, peach and after 20-30 mins., honey, honeysuckle and nectarine. Palate is floral infused - lily, white flowers, very tart acids. Medium-full body. With air, some white nectarine and a 30 sec finish.

From a 375, pop and pour. Disappointing for what it is - fairly closed-down, slightly lacking in acid, but making up for it with almost a tannic green banana note. I think this has the elements to really work, but it's going to need time.

From a half bottle off the list of L'Oustau de Baumanière in Les Baux. Lunch at Ile de Porquerolles. This was quite fun as the restaurant offered Vieux Telegraphe Blanc and Rouge for EUR45.00 per bottle which I thought was too cheap to pass on. Both wines were decanted. I have to say that I really like the whites from VT. The 2007 is a rich wine for sure. It shows a nice combination of peach, melon and honeysuckle. There's also a touch of lemon, pear and flowers. Rich, fat texture. Susanne really likes this wine. It was a very suitable partner for my fresh Otcopus salad. Great wine.

Medium yellow. Yellow fruits, banana, and a hint of hazelnut on the nose. Fairly viscous but leavened by terrific acidity and a long minerally finish. I am decidedly not a fan of white Chateauneufs, finding them to be ponderous and dull, but this is one of the most appealing examples I've had because of its balance and structure. A good drink now before it gains any more oxidative tones.
