Lemon, quince, flint, shisho, white flowers, coconut, green apple skin. Viscous and vibrant on the palate. Powerful, if inelegant & brash, with a persistent lemon pith finish. Still a lot of nervous energy, but entering its drinking window. Drink now to 2022+.

Seemed a little nutty at first on the nose but unfolded to a lovely mouthful of candied pineapple, citrus and salinity. No reason to hold these longer, the upside is limited and the downside is not worth considering.

Still very solid. Lemon zest with zinging acidity. Nice concentration for this level. This is very enjoyable. Echoing what some others have noted, this has probably reached its peak drinking window. It's not going anywhere for a while but there is no reason to hold from an aging point of view. About as solid a Bourgogne level as you can find.

Lemon and lemon peel on nose and palate with really great concentration for its level. Somewhere in between "nicely evolved" and "nicely evolving," this shows good maturity but I don't see it getting more interesting with more cellar time.

This seemed a little fat and sweet on opening, though the color was still a lively pale lemon which suggested that it hadn't succumbed to the dreaded pox. After some time in the glass it tightened itself up into a beautifully structured, well proportioned glass of white burgundy.
Pineapple, honey, chalk, salt and a blast of citrus on the nose. Its still just a tad sweet on the initial attack but there's a blast of acidity that binds it together and provides great line as well as length. Really very good.

Full straw, almost mid gold. Initially a bit volatile and hints at starting to show a touch of oxidation, but after 30 mins or sort seems to stabilise and appears fresher. Reasonable full whilst retataing some minerality. Decent but I preferred it a couple of years back when it was more open, richer and a little more flamboyant. ***

Those of a certain age may recall a commercial from the golden age of obnoxious TV ads for Parkay Margarine, in which either a butter dish or plastic crock (I don't remember which) would audibly dispute that it was being called Parkay. "Butter," it would assert, as though labeling it margarine was a mortal insult. In a loosely similar vein, it's insulting to call this wine a bourgogne, given the pleasure it provides. I don't know if it's really Puligny or what, but in all regards it delivers breed, depth, and quality well above the labeling. The nose offers a burst of yellow stone fruits and mellow oak. It packs tremendous weight on its 13% frame, with a shimmering intensity and length. It's nigh on seamless and adds subtle vanilla flavors in a mouth-coating wave that finishes with balanced authority. If this is the bourgogne, what must the good stuff be like?

Fruity, spicy, floral and nutty nose. A lot going on. Nutty with subtle orchard fruits and almond or hazelnut. Its possible this may be a shorter term wine and is in a sweet spot right now. Very nice concentration and dept. Solid.

Pretty darn tasty, especially for a "basic" bourgogne blanc, albeit from a great producer. On the nose, a little neutral, but with some citrus and light pollen. Bright acidity, tart apple, light smoke (what I always get in white burg!). After it had been in my glass a little while, I got more nuttiness and toast. A very deft hand at the use of oak.

13% alcohol. interesting to return to this wine after six months. the memory of it instantly registered, and in a most identical manner. when i saw my previous score of 90 it made me think that i wanted it to be better than it actually was. after all, leflaive is my favorite label, yet i fear i prejudicially cut it too much slack. before i typed tonight i was drawn to the review of burgundy al, one of our communities' most learned and gifted reporters. he has high praise for it, so i had to dig deep to figure out why i'm not as complimentary. in the end this is simply too much acid, too enamel strippingly tart for me. i even decanted it, and followed in the glass for 3 hours trying to get it to soften. this bottle did reveal more minerality than last time, but i could barely taste the fruit, and i tried very carefully to keep this at just below cellar temp. the nose is fab, but you don't drink the nose. i paid almost $50, thus my earlier QPR comment.

Holiday wines (mainly Burg with some fizz); 7/29/2011-8/17/2011: Greenish pale straw. Lovely open nose, white fruit and flowers, acacia, cream and tonka bean. Ripe and rounded attack giving way to a more lime and mineral mid-palate that persists through to the fairly long finish. Lovely now but with time in hand. ***1/2

Even better now than last July, with roasted nut aromatics that were not noticeble then. Citrus and tropical fruits are still present as is the wine's cleanness and clarity. Medium-bodied with high acidity and a long finish. As good as a generic white Bourgogne can get, at the level of a top village Chassagne or Puligny-Montrachet or a very good 1er cru, in terms of both quality and price...

Bright pale lemon in colour. Nose of medium intensity with citric fruit, unripe peach, quince peel some notes of toast and earhty minerality, also some floral notes. In the mouth it is very clean and much more sour than I expected from the nose. In the beggining I would have mistaken it, if tasted blind, for a young alsace riesling, but it evolved in the glass gaining more complexity. Flavours of honey and unripe peach evolved along with the lemony taste. Body is medium to full and acidity is high but very well balanced by the extract. Sure can benefit from one to three years of cellaring but is very nice now. Mouth is full of flavour but in a restrained kind of way that only fine wines exhibit. Finish is quite long and refreshing.

As with previous bottles of this wine, it was quite outstanding for a village wine. I know the wine should be good as the fruit comes from two specific climats in Puligny, owed by Anne-Claude, but it has not been remotely dissappointing. Delicious, long, everything a good Chardonay should be.

Pale lemon gold, clear and bright. On the nose, sharp lime and citrus wth honey, almond and white flower. The palate was as delightful as the nose, med + acidity, sharp lime citrus fruits but less prominent. The dominet notes were white stone fruit, almonds, a creaminess (malo I think, not oak) with a tight mineral undertow. Definitely seems more from Puligny than Chassagne. The finish long and pronouced, for a village wine this really is excellent.

Light yellow. Elegant nose with subtle lemon, minerality, green apple and honey undertones which appear after some time in the glass. Mid-bodied, smooth, ultra-clean and perfectly balanced with bright citrus fruit and refreshing acidity. Long finish. A very enjoyable and well made generic Bourgogne from a great producer. Given the way it evolved over time in the glass, I feel this will improve with further cellaring.

Clear limpid pale lemon gold. On the nose, citrus, pineapple and white stone fruit. A floral note too. On the palate, pronouced acidity but not searingly sharp, a touch of oak, ripe pear and pineapple. Perhaps a slight honey nuance on the follow through. Very nicely balanced and a long finish. For a generic Bourgoigne, this is very good indeed
