Back to Riesling Country 2.0; 6/17/2022-6/21/2022 (Flörsheim-Dalsheim, Bad Kreuznach, Niederhausen, Oberhausen, Bad Sobernheim , Bockenau): One glass, brief note: the Monopol vineyard from the one hectar just in sight of the river and Prinz Luipold bridge, the former border between Bavaria and Prussia, tension is the main impression here, 7,5% ABV, 2010 is among the very best vintages for Riesling for me, dry and in the classic style, tension again, great freshness, yellow peach, apricot, , some citrus zest in the background, enormous finish, **(**- ?), 93, 94(+) potential

Wow - this was stunning. Didn't take notes unfortunately but from memory...This was like eating apples and pears of a base of slate. Really intriguing orange peel character also. Acidity was face grippingly good which left you feeling like you need to hold on through the exceptionally long finish.

short note - nectar, peach, apricot/mango, butterscotch, very well balanced and long finsh, outstanding quality and will keep for a long time ahead, 94p with an upside

So easy to drink. Sweet apple on the nose. Great balance with super acidity providing length in spades. A real lightness on the palate. Sweetness, Apple, something slightly creamy hazelnut.

(Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Auslese "Goldkapsel") ($47.00) Again, no blatant botrytis, no candy or syrup, just a deepening of the Spät, a strange and haunting meld of peacefulness and energy, a glowy endorphin calm, a salt-plum wash, deliberate rivulets down the sides of the tongue; a wine that’s both in the zone and also constitutes the zone, with a suavity that isn’t cocky.
