Two bottles opened, both with identical notes. 2008 was a great year in Chablis, with a great aging potential. Given that this is the prestige wine of Chablisienne, this should have been at its peak right now. But no, this has come quite a long way on the road to the vinous graveyard. Deep, almost brownish colour. Clearly oxidized nose, but still with some citrus and nuts. Full bodied, but almost bereft of fruit. Nuts and sherry dominates the mouth, but the finish is dry and short with a clear bitterness from oak. A disapponitment.

Somewhat disappointing. Rather round and fruity profile with tones of grapes, pineapple and lime. Medium bodied, round mouthfeel with just enough acidity. Finishes rather short. Was not able to match a baked turbot. Hey, this is supposed to be the best wine from la Chablisienne! They surely must do better than this.

Initially closed. Opens up after about 45 minutes whit gray pear, apple, citrus, some brioche and roasted hazelnuts. Has clearly seen some oak, but the overall impression is fresh and light. Lots of structure/texture on the palate with high acid, more lemon, lots of chalky minerals and somewhat muted fruit. Finishes with some tropical fruits, lemon and chalk. Good to drink today, but will benefit from some more time in the cellar.

Elegant and somewhat green aromas, and some barrel notes. Vigorous, concentrated and elegant.
