Rich, round and tropical. Lots of complexity and depth, pretty good acidity (I'd take a bit more though!), and overall nicely balanced. Still young for sure, but already very fun to drink.
Adding more to this note at the end of the night… I left a small glass of this off to the side and drank after 2 hours of air. Opened up nicely and was pretty great! Definitely give this some air if you’re drinking it soon!

The 2018 Dauvissat Les Clos took a while to open then delivered intense kiwi, starfruit, lime, underripe pineapple and a finish of oyster shell and sea spray. Still young 94/100 for now.

Rescue Animal gathering at Jailbreak - all Burgundy (Jailbreak Brewery, Laurel, MD): Expressive nose displaying ripe yet pure white fruit, pear, apple, honeysuckle, sweet spices and mineral. The honeysuckle note reminds me Raveneau a bit. Excellent concentration, nicely layered concentrated white fruit, rich and generous, nice balance and precision, medium acidity and subtle mineral, and a long ripe white fruit driven finish with a hint of honeysuckle at the end. This shows less mineral than the peruses served next. Really nice showing, more like Raveneau than Dauvissat.

Pale lemon, and starbright. Very complex flavours, with loads of greyish mineral tones and soft salinity, ripe orange peel, cool mint, and hint of cloves and vanilla, and a bit of almond nuttiness at the back. Very persistent, and the complexity shows at the finish. Very convincing, for one of the best plots of Chablis, from a known classic producer. Excellent wine!

94-95+ pts
