  • Light pale golden yellow in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of apples, sweet peaches, apricot & lemon peel with overtones of floral & spice notes, honey, stony, minerals & a hint of slate in the background. Medium bodied with an excellent concentration of well balanced & smooth texture, ripe fruit flavors of stone fruits of yellow peaches, nectarines & citrus, with honey, spices & minerals. Very good balance between the sweetness & firm acidity. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with extended airing but will develop further with additional aging. [A.P. Nr. 2 576 511 11 23; Alc. @ 7.5%] An excellent Spätlese & with a long life ahead of it.

  • Goes without saying that this is just a pup…but to what extent we can divine this wine’s future by popping its cork now? On the nose I was greeted with nostril-blasting reduction layered with pear esters, layered with apples, layered with stone fruits, layered with flowers in a kaleidoscopic manner. In the mouth, those orchard and stone fruits are tempered with spring water, a touch of acid and a beneficent touch of spätlese sugar. I’m not the right person to tell you how this will turn out, so I will refrain from scoring, but allow me to say that it made a profound impression.

  • During a walkabout tasting, so only brief impressions. Richer than the Graacher Himmelreich. Ms. Prüm told me that this one always needs more time of the two signature terroirs.
