Deep, dark reddish-purple garnet in color with no signs of aging. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & cassis with classic cigar box overtones of cedar & tobacco, leather, earthy/dusty, anise, coffee/cocoa, some spices, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with cocoa, herbs, minerals, spices & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing. Even at 16 years of age, it still has some potential for further development if cellared properly.

Nose of old newspaper. Palate shows smooth, slightly creamy tannin. Mildly oxidised, with dulled flavours of cassis and raspberry. Two bottles tasted: one was significantly more oxidised than the other, but even the better bottle was past its best.
This ripe and original Cabernet blend needs a few hours to open up, but it is plenty tasty and sophisticated, especially at the sub-$100 price mark. I've long said that Forman offers Abreu on the cheap: aside from the historical connections, the similarities in the wines are obvious (e.g., dense, ripe, layered, but still earthy, tannic, acidic). That said, the Forman wines offer the less precise experience, with a few more blurred lines than the Abreu (which is way more expensive). Anyway, this holds true with the 2006 Forman, which is a little loose - but still quite tasty.
Dark red in color; full in body; aromas of mulberry, espresso, wet gravel, and sage. Flavors of blackberry, eucalyptus, cocoa powder, with a broad and sweet tannins. Blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc, 8% Petit Verdot, and 5% Merlot. 14.8% alcohol. A 2008 Maiden was better than this wine tonight, with more precision and depth, but the Forman wines win - unequivocally (and this is no small thing!) - on price. Drink in next few years.

Poured through Vinturi. Drinking extremely well. Fruit still prominent and tannins have calmed down considerably since my last bottle. Drink or hold.
