Dark garnet colour. Black currant, plum, light bell pepper, vegetal notes, truffle, leather, tobacco, spices, graphite, and underlying mineral notes, with medium-level acidity, well-integrated tannin, and superb length. Dry. Good structure and concentration, and well-balanced. By day two the wine was very integrated, but also much lighter, lightly drying and not quite as persistent as on day one, yet still very enjoyable, in particular on its own. Drink now.

The most difficult cork in a while, just barely managed to get it out without it disintegrating completely into the bottle. The wine is just beautiful. Not the first time that an older Bordeaux from a not-so-great year and producer (in those days) somehow manages to be captivating and totally still alive. The colour is a bit brownish but still deep, sweet fruity nose, elegant palate with a nice length, some tannins still on the finish. All the old school Bordeaux virtues.

Smooth, few tannins, little fruit, mocha, earth, wet leaves.

Team Vitis Fall Tasting 88/76; 10/5/2018-10/7/2018 (Tord): Light flatulence tones that blows away. Afterwards, slim fruit on the nose and on the palate. Hints of caramel towards the end.

In remarkably good shape, as the last bottle. Very silky, slightly fading. Still very complete and enjoyable.
