  • German white wine from Mosel: Riesling. 7,5 % alcohol.

AP number #11 19. 750 ml bottle. Decanted one hour prior to consumption and stored in the decanter during the evening.

    Medium golden/grayish color.

Ripe, delicate and fresh flavors of bicycle store, lemon, candied pears, minerals, yogurt, white flowers and earth. Ripe, powerful and fresh flavors of rubber, lemon, candied lemon peal, ripe pears, white flowers, earth, honey and minerals.

Semi-sweet. Full body. Fresh acidity. Excellent balance. Excellent structure. Some complexity. Very good concentration. Good intensity.

Long finish with lime fruit, candied lemon peal and minerals.

An excellent Auslese, concentrated, structured and balanced. Bottled summer. The acidity balance the sweetness perfectly and the taste is more towards off-dry than sweet. The flavor profile is dominated by lemon, earth and minerals - not much exotic fruit. The wine performs best at fridge temperature. It’s a very good match with Thai food (green curry with shrimps) and excellent on its own. It will last for many years in the cellar. 96/100

  • Lots of pineapple, apricot and white flowers on the nose. No petrol by now. A lovely lemony character and the perfect balance between acidity and sweetness. Getting more complexity with ageing it will be a stunner!

  • Pineapple whipped creak sundae, canned pears, still very acidic. Flaky and sweet apple pie. Probably needs another 10 years.

But to justify the price compares to other Mosel ausleses I'd say it had better develop well over the next decade. At this point it is not distinguishing itself for the cost (this is a harsh angle; obviously it's tasty).

  • From a 375. Pear, river rocks, dried sage and grass. Immediate burst of fruit on the palate. Very clean. Pear, dried nectarine, lime. Delicious.
