A lot of PS in the nose and Alicante in the finish. A pretty muscular zin that overwhelms most dishes, including burgers. Fun but not your usual zinfandel

A Ridge Tahoe Weekend; 6/29/2023-7/2/2023 (Edgewood Resort): Drinks really quite well and even when I came back after the 05 Lytton (which was clearly the winner of this flight) this was still drinking quite nicely. Darker fruits. Pepper. Raspberry. There’s this kind of tension in the wine between the dark and almost brooding and brightness. I suspect this is a wine that would benefit from some additional age. The years it already has look good on it. From vines that were originally planted in the 1890’s and then filled in post prohibition. Very enjoyable.
