Power and elegance, red fruits and smoke. I don't agree with some comments suggesting this as an Australian shiraz, I think it had a very nice (french) cool-climate character. I would love to taste it again in 5 years time.
At the start of the cork pull big, huge, and very primary, almost like a really good Aussie shiraz. Then about six hours in, seemed to dumb down. Came back around hour 10. Massive stuff. I check on it thinking it might be going over the hill. It is nowhere near, and remains extremely youthful. Maybe check in again in another five years?
