Second bottle from same batch. Again in great shape with bottom neck fill and a cork that is clean and dry on top and only bottom half soaked. While the cork smells clean am again getting some TCA here, making me think that the issue was not the cork here but rather the barrels in the cellar that were not clean at Pavie Macquin in the 80s, just like for Ducru. Having said that the wine is still very drinkable despite the slight TCA note. A bit thin but not past.

Surprised to post the very first rating of what was overall an excellent Bordeaux vintage. No professional reviews on this vintage of Pavie Macquin either. Perfect bottle with a bottom neck fill and a cork that was clean on top and only about the bottom third soaked. Pnp. In the glass this is a transparent garnet with a clear rim but no browning. Unfortunately very slightly corked bottle. Still drinkable though with a medium (-) body and fully resolved body. Rather short finish. Overall a bit simple but besides the unfortunate TCA issue here, still very enjoyable to drink from good storage, and unlike indicated by the 10 year old note below, this is still in its peak drinking window and for sure not past.
