  • Opened this last night, had a glass, then the bottle sit in the cellar for 10 hours or so. Viscous wine; looks the part. Warm mulberry fruit in the nose, and a hint of cinnamon, but still a little reticent. More forthcoming in the mouth, but in a firm, crisp way. This should be a beauty someday, but it still needs a few years to soften. Traditionalists rejoice! 5-13-17-9: 94/100.

  • Gave it 5 hours of air in a broad carafe! Had it side by side with a 2018 Capbern (i know that's not a fair match!). Very dense black/red color. Dark and red berries on the nose. Dried fruits, very dense and refined impression on the palate. I was fascinated by the great very long finish! This has perfect tannin structure and will last for decades! 94-95 pts. at the moment

  • This is my second bottle. The first wasn’t aerated properly. This time, I Coravin’d it and used the aerator. Wow! The wine now explodes on the nose and the palate with an incredible intensity of sweet dark fruit, blueberries, like a French blueberry tart. That sweetness and incredible intensity of concentration is on the palate as well with wonderful structure. The wine adheres to the tongue and mouth beautifully. Incredible stuff.

This is drinkable now if you aerate it, decant for a very long time, or shake the hell out of it. If you don’t want to do those things, then wait 5+ years. But it’s drinkable now otherwise and is absolutely fantastic. Totally worth the $90-100 price tag.

  • I think my exact first words were “holy crapballs”. This wine just hits you with such profound creamed fruit but a dose of mineral freshness and acidity that is otherworldly. Superb length, beautifully sweet tannin. A steal of a Bordeaux <$90!

  • So fresh and vibrant but still showing tremendous depth and intensity. Long life ahead and drank great on day 2.
