Nose of ripe wild red fruits, a hint of aged cedarwood Cuban-cigar box aroma!! Full and rich on the palate, slightly thick, the tannins still, I'm afraid not fully resolved yet, great length and great body! And a beautiful ruby colour! Rather classy!

Slightly cloudy, deep garnet, considerable amounts of deposit. Notes of bramble, blackcurrant, licorice, mushroom, prune, and soft oak on the nose. Full bodied, smooth tannins, dark fruited on the palate. Long and rounded. I would say this has peaked and there is no reason to wait any longer.
This is in slightly better shape than the '99 Clos du Marquis we had next to it.

Wow this smells pretty. Ripe red and blue fruit, tobacco, dried leaves, damp soil, and leather.
Beautiful on the palate too, medium weight, med+ acid, med+ tannin.
This should open up beautifully over the next few hours with some air. Drink now or wait. It will age for another 15+ easily.
Delicious.
