  • Corked or cooked… no tension and madiera on nose. Disappointed … 1st of 6 auction bottles.

  • Bouquet of plums, berry compote, crushed stones, kirsch liquor, a bit overripe. Lush, silky palate, much better than the bouquet suggests, medium-bodied, ripe berries, milk chocolate, leading to a long finish of spices and some sweetness.

  • Tasted double blind. My first guess after just one sip was Australian Shiraz. In the best moments, this is a sexy, sweet, slutty bomb which shows quite layered. A bit too bold and ripe for my taste. Some green notes are noticeable too which is a bit surprising given the ripeness. Overall a solid to good wine but nothing extraordinary. In the best moment certainly 94/95 points.

TN: A nose of ripe dark red and dark fruit, herbs. On the palate medium bodied, almost airy, with dark fruits, herbs, spices, minerality and a bit chocolate. Medium+ complexity but medium- precision. Actually, it feels a bit greenish here and there but in other moments it is perfect with chocolate covered cherries and dark berries. Very soft tannins which only become a bit rougher if you hold your wine for long in your mouth. Very good, high but well-integrated acidity. Medium length.

Decanting: 2 hours, which seemed fine.

    Glass: Zalto Bordeaux

  • Decanted 2h, then drank over 3 days. Ripe and surprisingly dark cherry fruit, lush with sweet seasonings, herbal aromas of green tea and marginally peppery too. Fresh acidity. Round and softly textured. Bold and intense while at the same time sexy and flirty. Initially thinking a score of >95 here, but the finish was not clean enough for that in the end with green, unripe notes popping up. Otherwise close to the outstanding 2009.

  • Dinner at Red House. Tasted blind. Popped and poured. Drank over 2 hours. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of grilled herbs, menthol, chocolate, blackberries, blackcurrant, black cherries. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14.5%), fine high tannins, plush full body. Medium+ flavour nintensity, with flavours of chocolate, vanilla oak, lush black cherries, red cherries, grilled herbs, cinnamon spice, menthol. Long finish.
Very good quality. Still needs few more years for the oak to integrate better.
