This wine was opened at a “cellar treasure” night. It was against old Lafite, Mouton, SQN, Ducru B, etc. and was the wine of the night. It had a low fill, but was not a problem for this wine. It tasted amazingly fresh, with an aged Chianti flavor and lingering, tasty finish. Decent color. A true gem of a wine and would continue to hold up.
I bit of must on the cork but vintage still intact. Aged to a tawny, initial decanting strong chocolate notes 30 minutes of breathing solid fruit of dark cherry and plum. Very mild tannin. Wish I had another bottle to unravel a bit more. Very worthwhile.

Bottle No. 45700 from an old Italian cellar. Completely gone. Original cork was in quite bad shape. Color of wine was brandy-like with no red hues. Maderized nose. Did not taste. Was a gift. Thank you Andrea. Hoping against all hope. "Flawed" is a bit unkind as nearly all 54 year old wines will lack alacrity. Would rather have noted "to be expected." Too bad.
