Drank with PeterOz. Found this in my cellar and was worried it was too late based on recent reviews. Maybe because it was in a wine fridge most of its life, it was drinking beautifully. Dark red color with almost no bricking. Lovely bouquet of mint, wet leaves and a little vanilla. Textbook currant flavors (for anyone who wonders what a currant tastes like). Obviously lots of bottle age with almost no tannins left and a delicious finish. Not quite enough acid to balance it out to get into the 90's
Sorry to hear others thought this wine over the hill -- our bottle was just fine. Very nice cassis, dark cherry, cedar flavors, with some smoke and a hint of spice. Medium bodied and drinking nicely. Nice finish too. We purchased upon release and stored in our cellar since.
Lower rating because we did wait too long to consume. That's why I'm using cellar tracker. I need a kick in the pants to start managing our consumption... Anyway, it started out with a somewhat grainy mouthfeel, but opened up into a rich, dark mushroom/earthy cabernet.
