PopnPour, tasted over 3 hrs -nearly opaque dark maroon with purple no bricking -somewhat shy black fruits licorice tar kirsch -initially med- acidity builds up after 2 hrs to med, med+ concentration delivers authoritative tightly wound black fruits and licorice of average complexity that slowly unfurls over 3 hrs, med+ tannins with decent length -this bottle a bit closed down now and more somber than a bottle a few months ago, needs some air or 2-3 more years in bottle
Fruit aromas sprung from the bottle before pouring. Clear, but not transparent, red. In the glass, thin and not really showing the fruit. Dusty tannins dominate. Hoping this evolves on the second day like the last bottle.
PopnPour, tasted over 1 hr -nearly opaque dark red no bricking -aromatic stony minerality kirsch -med/med+ acidity, fresh sappy med weight moderately complex raspberry kirsch with a bit of earthiness, med somewhat chalky tannins -fantastic CdR, this is screaming good right now and still on the young side with easily 3-5 great years ahead of it, Charvin has always been a favorite but with this and his CdP he really hit it out of the park in 2010
