  • Perfect bottle. No 03572
    Deep, dark, carmine red.

A bit green on the nose. Vosne-spice, wild strawberries, roses and lilywort. A bit closed in the beginning. This wine need lots of time in decanter. After 12 h it is on top. Coffee, toasted oak and som violets appears with time in decanter.

Lovely mineral, a bit green on the palate too, nice acidity, but the fruit is a bit backward and will not reveal itself at this moment. But you can feel the energy hidden in this wine. It is a "ticking bomb" that will detonate in ten years from now.
Some red berries and nice "expensive oak" (as my dear friend says).
Long finish, yet without the powerful drive I'm used to in Richebourg from DRC. This is much more feminim and elegant in style.

I will say this wine is already shut down. I had the Échézeaux 2010 not long ago and that wine performed better than this Richebourg 2010. But this is a wine for future generations to come. And it is a Grand Vin. A very feminim Richebourg. Probably the most feminim Richebourg I've ever had. This wine has everything to get a perfect score in the future. But I will not open this wine again until 2022.

  • 2010 DRC Tasting: Wow! You could smell this from across the room. An absolutely wonderful and exceptionally powerful nose of dark fruit, earth, spice, mushrooms, mineral notes and iron. Much more earthy than the prior wines. A giant step up from the RSV in aromatics. Outstanding fruit and spice on the palate. Extremely robust yet superbly elegant. The token power without weight. Great complexity. Without question, this was the most open for business tonight and seemed to show a clear step up from the previous 4 wines. Incredibly long finish with fantastic grip. Wonderful.

  • A little demure but brimming with potential. Black cherry fruit coupled with Asian spices on both the nose and in the mouth. It is rich and sappy and trimmed with flora. It really builds and finishes with sweet, spherical tannins and has extraordinary length. Far too young but it’s fun to drink some of the potential today.
