  Tasted blind, this wine had a deep red center with light red rims. The medium+ intensity nose featured red fruits, violets, soil, and tan spices.
  
  In the mouth, this wine was medium bodied with light rounded tannin, solid acidity, and good length.
  
  This wine seemed surprisingly subdued given the greatness of the producer and the vineyard and the intensity of the year. My guess is that this will pick up a couple points with time but may not reach the heights it should.

  Excellent structure and grip. The Richebourg on dark fruit spectrum with hint of tea, earth, and hoisin sauce. It had good verve and complexity with its broad structure. In particular, the earthy and rustic 93 DRC character was obvious in the Richebourg, which made this vintage quite controversial for the domaine. In my view, this bottle was more easily recognized as Richebourg than DRC when it was served blind. 92-93

  Small sample. Still, very expressive and powerful and detailed on the nose. Has some elegance, but there strong sous bois and and tertiary fruit notes. Palate was much more subtle, resolved, but seamless. Special wine, sorry to have only a couple sips.

  Small taste, but enough to understand the wine. Lots of hoisin sauce, a little rose petal, excellent weight without any overripe or over extracted character. Deep, supple, good but not mind blowing.
