  Wow, this was by far the WOTN at a friends 40th bday event. Nose was complex with incredible depth, improved with more time in the glass but came out guns firing. Palate was amongst the most velvety smooth I’ve ever come across without being over extracted or heavy. This was really a very special treat. This is a must try must buy

  Served Blind. Incredibly perfumed nose, jumping from the glass. I could just smell this all day. On the palate this was pure silk and perfectly balanced. Polished profile in all the right ways. The structure is all there for longer term aging, but this is showing so amazingly well right now, not a hair out of place. Stunning juice. 95+

  wow!!! silky, seductive, and lush. Sexy AF with violets, rose petals, dark fruits and mocha... This has decades left, decanted 5+ hours and needed more. a '99 Mondavi Reserve went off and challenged for WOTN, but no way to get around this is a world class wine... I would hold for another 5+ years but can be ripped now

  3hr decant and that is still recommended. This bottle sang a lot more than the companion bottle we had a few months ago. Tons of cassis, tobacco, espresso, graphite, bing cherry. Lots of very fine, chewy tannins. A light amount of silty sediment in the bottle. Refined and smooth, gentlemanly in a way.
  Score : 95. Relative to expectations: ++
