Using my usual port preparation this is finally ready after a few days. Great bottle (green wax cap), takes a while to open up. Looks light, but there’s still serious Fonseca sweetness. Classic Christmas cakes aromatics and broad and rich in the mouth with the alcohol not fully integrated. Looks very promising but needs more air. Will revert next week… seems will be dark chocolate palate and potential for 95-96pts coming

Top shoulder fill, signs of old and recent seepage. Very thin and clear, light amber with pink flashes, like a middle aged cognac. Nose showing mostly VA, a bit of nutty caramel. On the palate celery seed, buttery caramel, hazelnut, bit of wood smoke, strong spirit. Very long, syrupy, simple finish, faintest hint of red berries. Almost pure tawny in profile, giving some pleasure for sipping but very thin and marred by its hot spirit. I'd be interested to try a better preserved bottle, but this didn't show even a hint of quality. Not scored.

MAGNUM Vintage Port (CUT restaurant Beverly Hills): Out of magnum. For me this was a classic house style. So enjoyable. 12th of September harvest.

Colorado Memorial Day Tasting; 5/26/2023-5/27/2023 (Longmont, Colorado): Light amber in color. Notes of plum, ripe red fruits, and a touch of spice on the nose. Extremely rich flavor profile with Christmas spices and great acidity. Very long finish with just a touch of spirit.
