  Monprivato is among my favorite Barolo. Part of it is the site part the sensitive, deliberate wine making. No temptation to modernity. Served with a prime rib on Christmas, it was not up to my expectations but so many expectations are simply indentations to disappointment; move on, enjoy what you get. The nose is fresh red fruits but supply vinous. The impression is sour Michigan pie cherry flavor defining the flavors. Truly this has a sour cherry flavor.
