opened and consumed over about 3 hours. Initially faded in all aspects- autumnal nose and palate. After about 30 minutues everything started to come together and build in concert- after about an hour, this delivered. Cinnamon and pure dark cherries on the nose, the palate packed a nice punch- typical Charmes- powerful and straightforward with lovely texture.

Similar horsey bouquet to the Rousseau but more fragrant and airy. Also fully mature with its sappy, rounded palate but without the saline tinge the Rousseau had so it seems slightly more civilized. Still, hard to pick a favorite.

Drank with Denis Bachelet in his cellar. Did not take notes.
Still firing on all cylinders: plenty of fruits left but secondary development showing nice complexity. Long and complete. Pretty special stuff.
