  • Served next to the 83 Arnoux Suchots.

Both delicious. The Arnoux was showing more spice and acid.

The Bachelet had more bright cherry and bachelet signature. It's amazing how the Bachelet signature is so recognizable. Touch of earth, leather, and black pepper on the palate.

    Very much alive and delicious.

  • Started out disjointed and shrill, with spiky acidity, and very unpleasant to drink. The tannins were mostly resolved but the structural imbalances made it tough to appreciate the underlying smoothness. Fortunately it pulls together with a few hours of air and becomes more mellow. The fruit has surprisingly good sweetness and vibrancy and an interesting stony character, but its palate presence is a bit shallow and two-dimensional.

  • I have never smelled a wine that smelled this strongly of 'merde'. Seemed to be a decent wine underneath but even after being open for 12 hours it never really blew off. Tough to enjoy this one.
