  Part of a tasting dinner with colleagues.
  from magnum:
  Gorgeous blood ruby appearance, little signs of maturity.
  Pretty spicy nose. Savoury at first, then sweeter, with wood (and exotic woods), fragrant notes of tea, brambles (a little leaf), feels plenty together and nicely concentrated. The palate is round, very juicy and verging on tart in parts. Very good energy. Stimulating, some tightness and tension. Tannins are very fine thought still a touch of grip, and mineral too. Quite savoury second half, showing very good intensity, and plenty of structure.
  Attractive but general feeling is this will improve.

  Lafon's Santenots-du-Milieu always seems to hit the spot for me. This is young and robust but nevertheless showing very well now with great structure and minerality. Has a long life ahead.

  Lovely and pure cherry fruit. Very elegant and balanced wine with a touch of mushrooms. It is starting to show some age but there is no reason to keep this any longer. It is in a great place right now. I really like this wine but the price-point is a bit too high for this type of Burgundy. Still, a very pleasant wine that shows a wonderful balance.
