  • Initially when I saw this label, I didn’t do much research and just went on to taste it during dinner. Didn’t have much expectation as its a screw cap Australia white. The nose had impress me, pronounced nose intensity with notes of peach, pineapple, melon. Usually its the Sauvignon Blanc in the warmer region that had these notes. And for vintage 2011, after 10 years in bottling, its seriously delicious. Theres some toast notes as well which I didn’t pick up initially as its was overwhelm by the tropical fruits. Tasted at Min Jiang organised by Chng Poh Tiong.

  • Labour Day dinner at NVNA. Tasted blind. Drank in Zalto Universal.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of light straw, saline wet stones minerality, citrus lemon, bit of green lime. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity medium alcohol (13%), medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of lean white peach, citrus lemon with bits of green lime, chalky + wet stones minerality. Bit of toasty oak emerging with more air as it warms up. Long finish.
Very good quality. Lovely tension and style is clearly going for lean focus. I was guessing maybe a good Puligny-Montrachet village maybe Jacques Carillon. Turns out to be Yattarna (screw-cap bottle that states BIN 144 YATTARNA THE 17TH VINTAGE 2011".

  • Penfolds dinner. Wonderful nose here, up feels like a mature Puligny of grand quality. Subtle lemon, herbal notes with fennel, complex and crips. Precise palate, excellent length. Impressive.

  • Low key, clean, complex nose with i.a citrus zest, green apples and a touch of tropical fruit and matches. Very good balance with refreshing bright, cool acidity. Finish is a bit shorter than expected but very pleasant. Great quality but too highly priced for it.

  • Enjoyed it but not quite singing for me today (I have had this wine before which I love). It is a huge powerful chardonnay but just needed a little more elegance for me
