Served Blind - this was a revelation! Integrated oak and beautifully crisp fresh fruit, I guessed this had 6 or 7 years maturity, to find that it was 14 years old was remarkable. Purchased on release and stored properly this was in pristine condition. Lively, lithe and precise this has none of the heavy handed oak I instinctively associate with this wine. Very impressive and challenges my prejudices!

popped and poured. Drank alongside a 2007. Heavy handed oak dominates the fading fruit. All in all it was so so. Would drink these up soon. Both the 2007 and 2006 were much better 5 years ago when the fruit could stand up to the oak.

Light yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of matchstick, kumquat and brown spices. Flavors of lemon, vanilla, creme fraîche and minerals. Medium acidity,, full bodied. Drink or hold.

Incredible youthful freshness and vigour for a wine of 16 years old - perhaps indicative of the screw cap closure. Textbook
