Was not impressed at all. The nose was nice and that about all. While the wine had not turned sour yet it was definitely thinking about it. The finish was very leathery. This is the third time in two weeks when I have ha a substandard BDM from the 2010 vintage - 2 La Gerlas and now this one. Hope this is not a patter because I have a lot of 2010.s of different vineyards in my cellar.
I was pleasantly surprised by how gracefully this wine has aged. Drank over 2 nights via coravin then popped the cork on day 3.
The nose is rather subdued with traditional brunello flowers, cherries, and earth. It tastes wonderful. There is a balance of cherry, cedar, earth, and silky smooth rose petals. There is pleasant level of acid that keeps it fresh. Finish is medium long. Drinking perfectly now, but can hold for a while.
I’ve had other vintages of this wine but none as balanced and appealing as 2010.

* Wine 3 out of 6, YOLO wine club - 2010 Brunello tasting. Decanted for 3-hours.
Nose - leaning modern, with vanilla, cherry, cassis, and black pepper. Quite expressive.
On the pallet - medium bodied, dark fruit, solid structure, velvety tannins and decent finish, with a slight tartness.
Well balanced and pleasant, but a bit too modern and boring for my taste, and definitely the least exciting wine of the evening.
89 points on the night. Could benefit from 2-3 more years. Hold and drink from 2026 onwards.
