This was very disappointing. Opened around 5pm and decanted. First whiff smelled like CA pinot. Eventually opened up to display some gevrey spice but that went away as it was opened. Cranberry , licorice , and toasty oak on nose. Finish was at times tart and at times dusty. Mid palate was flat and short. Thin body. Maybe sounds harsh. I know it was a village wine but it's on the pricey side so should deliver more. The 2016 was absolutely phenomenal so I was expecting more.

On the pop and pour this smelled like high quality Loire Cab Franc thanks to its intense stem and green-ness. As it opened it revealed some fruit but we regretfully drank this too fast before it could fully unfurl. Don’t repeat my mistake and either decant this or leave it in the cellar for years to come.

Deep dark red, still youthful looking despite 10 years. Earthy nose. Blackcurrants and gamey meats on the palate. Nicely balanced and good, long finish. A very nice wine.

Bright red in colour. Cherry on the nose. Quite polished in style. Sour cherry on the palate. Lots of acidity providing structure. Bright. Rocks and saline on the palate. Never done it; but sort of what I imagine licking rocks would be like. Still quite primary. Ethereal and refined. Bachelet certainly nailed the 2013 vintage.

Nice blue fruits and a classic taut finish with Gevrey muscle. This seems to be drying out and should be drunk soon. 89-
