Tried 2020 Domaine Bachelet and 2020 Benjamin Leroux Gevrey-Chambertin side by side with Maddie and Kathy. Leroux has a more brilliant color, Bachelet a little more cloudy. Strong cinnamon scent to the Leroux. Bachelet significantly more fruity - on early taste it’s like eating a basket of fruit, whereas the Leroux is more complex (Maddie says fancy). By end of the night, Bachelet evolved a lot more than Leroux - tannins in the Leroux started to stand out after a few hours. A very enjoyable evening.

March Madness Wine Tasting: Served blind. Youthful, but delicious. It almost tasted like a Marcassin Pinot due to the creamy sweet fruit on the finish. I would lay this down for at least another 5 years. That said, I may open a bottle of my 2015 to see where it is at now.

There's a lot in this bottle. Tons of fruit, big flavor impact, lifted with plenty of detail. I've gone through a good amount of 2020 Gevrey village wine and Bach sits on top. There is a touch of greenish/medicinal note but I don't find it currently detracting. I love these wines as they have so much character. Not as immediately delicious as the 19 but looking forward to seeing what this turns into.

Potentially monumental Bach Gev VV. I'm not sure anyone does it better. Massive but somehow also walking on tiptoes.
