  • Purple just turning garnet. Brooding and dark, anise, lavender, heme, raw beef, beeswax notes. Palate is quite muted, revealing little in the way of fruit, but suggestive of red berries, mineral and a distinctive green/vegetal notion. A bit disappointing and consistent with a previous recent bottle (Bottles 00002 and 00003).

  • blind tasting chez David: Burgundy mishmash: Volnay, Chambolle, Puligny, Rully and Pouilly Fuisse

aromas of beets, damp earth, green flowers, blue and red fruits, pink peppercorns, light roast yirgacheffe.... such beautiful and engaging perfume here

fresh and tart red and blue fruits on the palate, fine-boned and lively, satin tannins, pretty and delicate but great staying power

long floral and red fruit finish, gorgeous inner perfume

    guess: 2001 hillside Chambolle 1er

  • : light clear crimson color ; sweet strawberries 🍓 and raspberries come to your nose lively ; palate is intensive red berries , minerals and depth of flavors; but subtle , clean, fresh and light ; well balanced over the years of cellaring, it has exhibited Chambolle ‘s elegance and extremely enjoyable . Paring with Morton bay bug pastas.

  • Just jumps out of the glass, raspberries and strawberries with mineral notes. The palate is all about balance, intensity of flavour yet very light on its feet. Drinking beautifully now and I do not think it can get any better.

  • Intense focused nose of sous-bois raspberries and blackberries. Some floral hints as the aromas unfold. On taste it is light and refreshing but intense layers of red berries. Perfect balance with the acidity. This is really a wonderful bottle. Great intensity while being light. Not sure how that works but buckets of flavours.
