Monthly Tasting Group HWS #087; Burgundy: Vosne Romanée and Clos Vougeot. (By VD): Orange rim. A lot of minerals, toast and aromatic bouquet with also lemon grass. Same on the palate. Also earth, mushrooms, sweet spices, chocolate, coffee and caramel. A firm amount of acidity and some bitterness. Tasting the 2000 and 2004 blind beside each other, this 2004 was more developed.

(Vougeraie Vougeot Clos de la Prieuré Rouge) The nose interesting with a forward impression and quite floral and elegant though edged in a cedar frame. Good concentration and very fresh. This is a nice and easy wine with a good finish.

No formal note; an underrated Burgundy red that performed quite well in tonight's wine tasting dinner; overall, 94-95 points.
