Monthly Tasting Group LTB 2014-08; Monastery wines. (By EvA & TdJ): Beautiful and expressive bouquet with ripe red berry fruits, earth and some oak. On the palate certainly for a Burgundy a lot of sweetness of ripe red fruits also some acidity, soft and integrated tannin and a medium length. The hot vintage is noticeable. Some thought it was too ripe and already a bit too old. I liked the wine. Drink now.

Quite pale burnt cherry colour. Very savoury earthy nose, a touch smoky, and with nice sour cherry fruit. Round and sauvage in the mouth. Well balanced but lacks real intensity. 3+

(Vougeraie Vougeot Clos de la Prieuré Rouge) The nose is deeper, a little reduced, sweet but not too sweet. Quite some density on the palate, low acidity and no sharp edges. An easy wine to drink.

Very good backbone and structure. Balanced and mineraly. A bit low on fruit but stood to food fantastically.

Gorgeous rustic nose with lots of barnyard 'aromas'... ;) The palate was less impressive, but did improve through the night.

It is somewhat brown colored. It is fizzling out and does not have the Umph but still hold together well. Good structure and tertiary flavors.
