  • Flinty reduction isn’t hiding as much as it might have before. Dark fruit but raspberries too on the nose. Lightweight with a medium long persistence. Really working right now.

  • I’ve had the good fortune of tasting many vintages of this wine, and this is the first 2013 I try. It has a vibrancy which is quite extraordinary and adds spice to the usual characteristics of this vineyard, but is provided by acidity levels that border on the overpowering. Needs more time or long decant. These are very long lived and this is a vintage I’d ideally put away for 20 years if, alas, I was 20 years younger.

  • Tuesday Night Double Blind $40+ (Alpharetta, GA): Paler ruby core with pale rim; reduced as heck, tire fire, floral, cherries, spice; very sour on palate, griottes cherry, tart, a bit angular, yellow plum, under ripe; was on '11 or '13, softer extraction- Grivot?; one of the least generous CdMs I've had, curious how this will develop, lean and wiry suggests maybe earlier drinking window but right now this needs a couple more years.
